  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Unless in the future we can somehow circumvent death, it is an inevitable of life. I've always told myself I'd ctb when I've done everything I need to do here on Earth - even if I am the happiest person alive and I could achieve every wish I could ever want. I do believe in an afterlife, although I am aware that it is not a guarantee, and I do not believe that until we die we can really conceive whatever may happen next. Even in the event there is nothing, how would we know? Although I do hope to redeem myself in the "next world" if possible.
I still think suicide is the best way to die if you use something like N or some other barbituate, which I understand is difficult but in an ideal society it would be readily available. Why take the risk of dying in an unfortunate matter when you can die peacefully? You can't control if you die or not, but you can control when. I know that there are interferences with this philosophy such as SI, emotions, religion, etcetera. But from a completely objective standpoint, I do truly believe suicide is the best way to die, even if your life is perfect.

A family member of mine works in healthcare with people that have Alzheimer's and dementia. try's to make their lives a little fun every day but says the suffering is the most inhuman way to go with long term suffering for not only the patient but also the family that is in pain. How is this not a reason to CTB in a peaceful way? Sitting like a vegetable all day looking out the window is like a horror movie to me..

I want the ability to end my life peacefully, i dont want to become a criminal to fulfil my dream. I want to be calm and happy when I go out. Why is it fairer to force people to continue living when that's not in the best interest of that person. Why are our lives controlled and owned by other people? This is backwards thinking and needs to change before our plans can become practical and effective.

I agree. Death comes to everyone. Why does the majority of society readily accept a painful or violent involuntary death caused by illness, deteriorating health, accidents, murder, etc over a peaceful voluntary one that you can have control over?

Suicide is the way that I want to die, I want to exit this world at a time of my own choosing rather than it being out of my control. We all deserve the option of a peaceful exit, nobody should have to die a painful or traumatic suicide, it is cruel to expect people to suffer for decades against their wishes in a world with so much meaningless suffering. Life is just a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it, and all that we are doing is waiting around to die anyway so it is wrong to try to force people to live. The right to die should always be respected.

Dying in your sleep or accidental OD are preferable, spares you any emotional turmoil and effort. Suffering immensely is almost a prerequisite for a successful suicide.

I have also decided that I will commit suicide, I don't wish to carry on an existence that is a less than satisfactory life. I'm geting on a bit and already have some minor mobility and breathing issues, my reasons for living are decreasing and my yearning for death is getting much stronger.
