It is a nice gift. It's just a matter of successfully using it.

Nope, actually there are animals that inflict pain on others for pleasure. It's a trait found in more intelligent animals. For example orcas will do this.
Was just about to write this. Highly intelligent animals, like orcas and some of the big cats like lions and leopards will torture prey for enjoyment purposes only. Dolphins are highly sentient and will rape other dolphins for pleasure. Humans just happen to be the most intelligent of all animals, thus are capable of inflicting the most damage.

I didn't know Orcas did that. Is it for pleasure out of strictly torturing them or is it a form of play that actually benefits their survival for when they do hunt?

That's disturbing.

Humans are animals. To say that other animals "only act based on instinct" is absurd. Humans aren't the only animal to intentionally inflict suffering on others.

wouao chill man, why so spicy ? To just say ""its absurd" is not much of a contra-argument. However, exception proves the rule.Yes , most animals fundamentally rely on their instincts, now I wont go into eveyr specific insect or something to look for animal class that behave in unique way, as this is not a biology session, but a suicide forum.

- as for the orcas - "Some of the larger dolphin species, especially orcas (killer whales), may also prey on smaller dolphins, but this seems rare."
- lions - "The lion is one of Africa's apex land predators. An apex predator, also known as an alpha predator or top predator, is a predator at the top of a food chain, with no natural predators"
- dolphins rape myth -
the term rape cannot be used to describe the kinds of behavior scientists have observed in dolphins. The central problem is that the legal definitions of rape include a lack of consent on the part of the victim, and we simply cannot know the extent to which dolphins or other animals are able to give consent. A non-consensual act like rape has "moral and legal implications" that are only relevant in the human world, which is why animal scientists (pretty much)stopped using the term altogether in the early 1980s. The correct scientific term to describe when a male aggressively restrains a female in order to mate is forced copulation. Forced copulation has been observed in ducks, lizards, monkeys, fruit flies, crickets, orangutans, chimpanzees, and countless other species. But not dolphins.

- I wont continue with this thread, cuz I dont come here to argue, or change someones mind about smth, rather I come here to read and learn and sometimes expressing myself.

@NoOneKnows I didn't read Virgo's comment in a way that he needed to chill, nor anyone in this thread as hostile. A discussion is not an argument. I find it all very facinating. As per orcas— they often tourment seals before they kill them, sometimes for a good while. I watched it happen in person once several years ago, hence my interest in the subject. Also, I love orcas.

you are entitlted to your sentiment. however he misquoted what i said - . To say that other animals "only act based on instinct" is absurd. Humans aren't the only animal to intentionally inflict suffering on others."" I havent said they ONLY act based on instinct., so he is calling his own made up citation absurd. Apparently, everyone understood we are speaking rather metaphorically and not including every single class of animals(why u keep mentioning orcas?), as i said again, maybe u want to re-read my post, was not intended into details of zoology at all. So the only "absurd" statement made was his (or whoever wrote it), claiming doplhins rape, which i found i s a myth.
Why u repliyng now on this old, not-about-suicide anymore post now? are u his spokeperson maybe?, idont have time nor interest to discuss reply that was taken out of context ,misquoted and with false arguments, so good luck

I'm replying because you quoted my text in your post and I received a notification. I can reply to anything I want. I made the statement about dolphins in regard to their aggressive mating behavior. You are angry over the semantics of the term rape. That's fine. I have studied cetaceous mammals. I stated my interest in orcas.

"No animals commit such atrocities as humans do" - you
...
"everyone understood we are speaking rather metaphorically and not including every single class of animals" - you

People on a discussion forum cannot read your mind, only your words. My only input in regard to the other poster was that his statement was not aggressive, as you seemed to take it. Your opinions are valid, no need to get emotionally worked up over it.

a bit contradictory, but would not it be interesting if evolution gave us a painless death mechanism?

Yes, but it still hurts, you think?
The most painless is nembutal/euthenasia but society can't make money off of dead people so the access to that is cut off. Hanging is fairly painless if done right but it's not as easy as taking a swig of n.

What scares me about it is if someone finds me before I die and tries to save me. I gotta have isolation for atleast an hour.

I'm gonna do it in a hotel.

Spend the day relaxing and drinking then do it . They won't find me until the next day.

Evolution isn't benign sadly.
