Suicide in recent horror movies

****SPOILERS FOR OBSESSION AND HOKUM BELOW****

Has anyone seen the suicide scenes in Obsession and Hokum and thought... no way would that work. In Obsession Bear attempts to OD with a handful of pills and dies in what appears to be less than a minute, in Hokum Ohm hangs himself and there's no way he would have just woken up in hospital fine without any damage. I guess though the average person wouldn't know that's not how it works

I thought this about Obsession. I believe the kind of pills he took are visible on the container but there's no information online about it yet and I didn't manage to catch them. All that's explicitly stated is that they're sleeping pills.

I had an 'argument' with my boyfriend coming out of the film about whether it would be easier (not in terms of success, but in terms of overcoming SI) to OD on pills or shoot yourself. He's absolutely adamant that shooting yourself is 10x easier than overdosing. Not sure what world he's living in haha but I disagree.
