Is anyone here planning to commit suicide due to chronic pain? I have chronic pain and am looking forward to the pain going away after dying but am also really sad that I can't live a long and normal life. I'm 29 and feel like my life was really just getting started before being injured. If I didn't have this pain, I would not be suicidal. It makes me really sad because I feel like I'm missing out on life and helping other people and making the world be a better place. I also feel really bad for my family because I know they will be so sad to learn of my suicide. But I also can't continue to live in so much pain. Does anyone else relate?

Yes undiagnosed nuerological related pain that never stops and doesn't respond to any medication. Plus having to wait a long period of time to see a specialist. So I can relate.

Have you been dealing with this pain for a long time? Have you tried a lot of treatments? Hope you start to feel better and the specialist helps.

I can definitely relate. Aside from severe anxiety and depression, I also have akathisia, rheumatoid arthritis, endometriosis, migraines, partial seizures, tinnitus, nausea, stomach and back pain, etc. The RA prevents me from being able to exercise like I used to. Since the RA, my mental health has deteriorated because of that. It was the one thing that helped the most with depression and somewhat with anxiety. I'm in constant pain. If it's not the RA, it's the endometriosis. If not that, it's a nauseating migraine and so forth. The akathisia is fairly well controlled with kratom, still depressed and anxious but it is much better. I still wake up to the aka every day and even just 30 minutes of living it is a nightmare. The kratom doesn't help much with the RA related pain or the endo. At some point it's going to lose its effectiveness. I've only been taking it for two months. I think I would be able to live with the pain, so far, if I was able to get disability and didn't have to constantly worry about losing my job because I'm too sick or in too much pain to work (physical labor). But when it's served with this constant anxiety and depression, it's just too much.

I share the same feeling as you. I have daily pain, which has made my life a nightmare. I just want it to stop!

Yes. I have severe autoimmune disease and live every minute in excruciating pain. I've been in terrible unbearable pain for 12 months and intermittent pain for years before that. I've tried all treatments available and even all the off the wall ones. I am done.

Yes, it is the only reason I want to CTB. I am 28 and have had severe neuropathic pain for 2.5 years. Prior to this I loved life, was very fit and healthy and had good relationships and was one year from completing my PhD. Now I sit at home, day after day, just wanting to end the pain but never being able to go through with it.

So sorry to hear. What caused the neuropathic pain? I often wonder about finally going through with it and how it will feel. Do you worry you might regret ctbing?

I have come to realise that many are drawn to suicide due to chronic pain, myself included.

Prior to development of this pain, suicide appears incomprehensible and unfathomable.

It appears pain of a sufficient intensity is required for one to truly understand the desire to end one's life. Hence, it is impossible to have a rational and sensible discussion about suicide with anyone who has not endured such pain for a sufficiently long duration.

Completely. I went from fairly healthy to DISABLED very quickly and they haven't managed to diagnose me properly yet! For four years I've been living a quasi-existence... I had endometriosis for 20 years and they only got to it 3 years ago. I'm pretty sure it's on my sciatic nerve but am having a hard time getting them to listen. I wake up soaked in sweat, my palpable lymph nodes are growing in size and number, there's an unknown lesion inside my spinal cord that I assume they won't remove until my legs stop working...
I've got a fiancƩ and child to stick around for but am battered back by constant pain and fatigue every day, guilty that I can't perform my duties as a wife and mother.
Sure I'm causing distress by living but obviously would cause distress if I took my own life, so stuck in a crappy limbo where I can never win lol I'm either no doing enough or doing too much!

You never mentioned what pain you suffer from, may I ask? Out of genuine interest and willingness to understand, for this is what we unfortunately lack from those close by during chronic pain...

I'm so sorry to hear about everyone's pain. I hope we all find relief soon. I have really bad post-concussion syndrome. So really bad migraines and noise and light sensitivity unfortunately. Have you looked into alternative treatments?

Rose - will it possibly go away? I've tried thousands of dollars and over a year of alternative treatments. It's so awful to be out of hope.

I have not been able to find any treatments that have significantly helped me yet. But maybe you can try scenar. That helped me a lot before I had a setback. What treatments have you tried?

3 years ago protracted withdrawal from zoloft made my chronic pain 1000 times worse. I didn't know it was from zoloft. thought i came spontaneously. I was desparate and suicidal every day. Btw I had tinitus whit which i didnt know to cope and it also made me suicidal. I can relate.
Please search for treatment. Have you visited chiropractor? It helped me.

I can so relate to your pain, Rose. I experience excruciating burning and strong pressure (like being gripped in a vice) and tingling in various parts of my body. I really hope we are all able to find relief from it.

Do you get any relief from ergot amines or the triptans? Exploring some of the other dosage forms like nasal spray or autoinjector can make a world of difference? Any experience with acupuncture?

I don't have pain but if my Tinnitus gets much worse I might end it.

I went very quickly from feeling OK and having a life, going to gigs, taking the kids out, shopping, dating etc to being housebound, in pain 24/7.

Constant pain is the reason I'm going to CTB.

I've had enough of this terrible existance.

I also suffer from pain via nerve damage daily although it's fluctuates in how bad it is, sometimes hour by hour. I have other troubling symptoms that make me want to die daily. It is the sole reason my life fell apart and the sole reason I'll be leaving this Earth. Nobody should be tortured by their own body on a daily or even frequent basis. It's no way to live.

You have applied for disability? It takes forever. I was required to apply by my employer, and had to work with a specific company. It did walk me through the whole process - took 2 years! I hope you can find a way to at least lessen your financial difficulties. You have so much going on!
I do have constant pain and chronic conditions with no cure, but that might take years to kill me. The first thing that happened was Bell's Palsy, which most people recover from and have no lasting effects. Some tests showed abnormalities which has led me on a healthcare journey that's been a pain in the rear end. During this time I also lost my father and 18 months later my son. I will never be the same again. Sometimes what works best to get me through the day is to do things to honor my son. Caring for my furry critters helps, too. Right now I have to stay for my mother. She probably saved my life after my son's passing.

I've been dealing with chronic pain for about 16 years now. I have Interstitial Cystitis (IC), Fibromyalgia, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, and PCOS. It's a lot of pain on top of pain on top of pain all in the same general area. My legs ache so severely almost all the time too. I stay in bed when I'm at home which is just about all the time. I hardly ever get out. Almost everything I do causes pain later whether it's later that evening/night, the next day, or for the next X amount of days/weeks. The pain is always different, and I never know The past year has been really bad... I"m starting to give up. I'm not getting the meds I need. Doctors are too afraid to prescribe a strong pain medication to someone who actually needs it. It makes no sense. I'm a guinea pig, and I'm over it. I've been over it for a loooooong time actually. I just don't know how much longer I can hold on. I really don't.There's no known cause for IC, and there's no known cure, so I'm basically fucked.

I'm so sorry to hear. That pain sounds unbearable. Are you into alternative treatments? If so, maybe you can look into the DNRS program, scenar, quantum touch healing ( I know of a quantum healer who refunds all of your money if it doesn't help), etc. Or maybe hyperbarics or PEMF?

Count me in. Im suffering from a chronic infection which is antibiotic resistant.
In 3 years it totally ruined my body, got into my lungs, joints and then into the brain and nervous system.
I live in severe neurological pain 24/7 . Its like thousand burning needles are stuck into your body.
Ive seen some shit in my live, but nothing compares to this. This is just inhumane.

Have you had intrevenous vancomycin?

Yes I did. A year ago. It didn't help. I almost went deaf, since it has some nasty side effects.

Ive tried all antibiotic available. Ive spent last 6 months on 5 antibiotics protocol. It helped and I felt like a human being again, buy then slowly the resistance built up and antibiotics stopped working.

Those of you who suffer from severe neurological pain I recommend to try following:
- large doses of B vitamins: B2, B6, B12
- quercetin 500mg x 2 times a day
- large doses if vitamin C , I take 2,5g x 4 times a day. 10g a day totally.
- mexidol
- MSM

Those are all antioxidants and can be obtained OTC on iherb.

If you have any tips how to deal with the pain please do share .
