Hey everyone!

I've decided to CTB relatively soon. I'm worried that when I finally do it I won't be calm or thinking straight and so I was wondering if anyone has provided a checklist for when they do. For example, I live alone with no friends and very limited family. I'm slightly concerned I won't be found for weeks. I also have 2 cats so I want to make sure they're safe and looked after and don't end up eating me.

So far I've come up with:

paying remaining bills
leave passwords in a notepad for PC access etc
Bin sex toys (saves embarrassment for when mum cleans out the flat)
Purge phone (nudes, weird stuff)

Is there anything else you can think of? Or have you ever made such a list? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In addition to what you've already listed, I also have

Cancel all paid subscriptions
Clean cloud data
Hard reset my computers
Delete all social media accounts (that's my personal preference)
Take out all my cash to leave for my family
Print cat care instructions
Schedule an email for a friend to come pick up my cats (I also have 2 of them :) )

As well as leaving passwords I also plan on writing down details of any people/companies that'll need to be contacted, e.g. details of my landlord, who the energy supplier is to my flat, contact details for my employer. My family don't know any of my friends so I'll leave contact details for 2 friends they should inform. These 2 friends will then be able to spread the news to everyone in my 2 friend groups.

I also plan to close all my bank accounts apart from 1 and move all my money over into the one account. The bank details will be included with all the other stuff above. Makes it easier for my family to just have 1 bank to contact.

Write a will if there are any items/finances you care about going to certain people, maybe

I'm in the process of getting things 'sorted'. I want my departure to be planned well so loved ones know that I didn't take my life irrationally and so it's not made even more overwhelming.

For me:
I'm choosing a method to ctb which is easily accessible and allows me to carry this out away from everyone. In fact, it allows for a very flexible location.

I am writing up a document which clearly gives my reasons for leaving. It's going to be several pages and act to show whoever wants to read, the real me, and allow them to digest facts so they are not left wondering 'why'. It will state that nobody could of prevented it, it's was planned, I was sound in mind and clearly express my intentions. No blame, no guilt.

My life insurance policy will pay out for suicide in June 2022. I'll be going shortly after this. This will pay off the mortgage for my home and support my girlfriend / family financially. Document will be in folder for someone I trust to find.

I am in the stages of getting a will put in place so it's one less thing for anyone else to stress about, expressing my wishes etc document will be in folder for someone I trust to find

Other stuff in folder include all my ID… including birth certificate. Copy of my letter which I'm writing.

I will be cancelling all subscriptions, memberships etc and do my best to stop letters that are addressed to me from regular places like specsavers 😂😂 and samiratans etc nobody wants to see that when I'm gone.. could be a trigger for someone to see.. even just my name, y'know?

I would love to depart after Christmas but I need to wait that little bit longer. It will be tough to wait it out but I feel it's sensible, logical… and I personally will feel less guilty about making the final choice.

Take care all

I would leave out enough cat food and water so that in the worst case scenario, if somebody forgets to pick them up or something happens to them, the cats will be ok.

I think most things have been covered.

I've got details of all my accounts, including things like car insurance. Superannuation info. Sentimental items. Incomplete projects on the house. All financial details.

Next up will be a legal will and a brief CTB note just to ensure that nobody gets blamed by my family.
