I have this idea that those with the strongest morals and ideals would be the most likely to commit suicide outside of "suicides of passion" and chronic illness.
I believe this for 3 reasons:
First, anyone with very strong moral convictions will also be the person who judges themself the harshest for moral crimes. If they grow up in a bad situation, I think these people would end up with very little self worth.
Second, because these people would be some of the most sensitive to societal decay. A very moral person being surrounded by evil 24/7 can't easily be happy.
Third, ancedotal evidence. All of the very best and honest people I have met were also always sad/dissatisfied with their life and the world they are in, more than any other group I have met.
What do you guys think?
