Discussion Starting a YouTube channel as a cope

Has anyone had experiences with this? I recently started a gaming YouTube channel, because gaming is the only thing in life I am even remotely interested in.
It seems like a good cope. I spent 12 hours editing my last video and not once during that period I felt like wanting to die.
I´m still just so fucking lost in life though.

cool to see that you found something you like doing and keeps your mind occupied!
starting on yt nowdays is rough and takes time to gain momentum so make sure to not get discoruraged and focus on having fun and not results at the begining,

I'm just doing it for myself and my friends, really. I enjoy watching my own videos.

That´s rough, becoming a lolcow would be a horrible thing, especially when most things on the internet are forever.
However, if you do end up running into criticism that upsets you, just don´t respond.

I just finished my first series, will keep doing more.
The suicidal thoughts still throb in the back of my head, they just show up less frequently now.

editing is such a good distraction. i started a new channel recently and spent all day editing a stupid video for fun and didnt have any room in my brain to be sad bc i was so focused
