I got nearly 3/4 through this book then realised it had been recommended to me as a novel about mental illness by someone who works at a mental health organisation I sometimes attend.
Has anyone else read it?
It is kind of a fairytale in my opinion. Without spoilers, but that there is a happy ending in a sense for the mentally ill person.
She has a never-named mental illness which is invented, and on which she can safely get pregnant on the medication and other characters, including her psychiatrist, tell her that she is safe to get pregnant and that she will be a good mother. Erm despite the fact that she spends time reclusive and in mental agony.
I did like reading the book, but these fairy tales annoy me. Though I know some peopel with mental illness who do keep some kind of normal life. I am not in that club myself.
