I agree that ultimately it doesn't matter and I'd probably won't be listening to any music when I ctb. It's also difficult for me to pick a single song. I would rather have like a ctb playlist on loop to calm myself or hype myself up before eventually going through with it. Lately, I've been listening to 'The Holy Bible' by Manic Street Preachers. It's been a while since I last listened to the whole album and it's always been a piece of work that I can keep on coming back to and relate at different stages of my life. Not so much to get me down, I was considering making a whole playlist for my ctb but that idea fades the closer I get. Was going to take headphones but now I might just take some random tracks and play them quietly on speaker while I lay there.

I might have the actual meaning incorrect, but when I heard the song, the first part was about trying to make life okay and coping via distractions, socializing, hobbies, whatever. And your mind going bonkers from crushing failures and trying to bounce back un-jaded from those crushing experiences. I like how the music changes, especially for the last part:
The sad part is that through the worst parts of my life, either family or friend caused the problem or I've received only blame, criticism, guilt, or abandonment from them. Never support. So in dealing with the actual pain, instead of "on our own", it's been "on my own". Unlike what some friends think, I don't need anyone to fix my life; I've been able to survive enough things on my own, even help people with their issues. But I'm tired of coping with my next crushing blow on my own. Hence, my username.
