Yeah the Black reboot. I actually really enjoyed it and RX (Masked Rider was awful though and Ferbus can die in a fire for all eternity). In fact, they're probably far and away my favorite seasons pre-Kuuga. Without getting into spoilers since you haven't seen it, I kinda felt Black Sun inserted some politics into it's story that I don't think really worked with the world they set up. It's still worth a watch though.

Politics in Black? That's weird, really weird, I find a bit difficult to introduce them not only because the original series theme but also the plane in which all the action is handled, it is not compatible enough in my opinion, it would have been like introducing such topics in Ryuki, Den-O or OOO, where the general outline of the story is relatively unearthly.

Be glad you don't remember much of Masked Rider. I binge watched some of the other American Tokusatsu based series that came out in the 90s, like Beetleborgs and Samurai Syber-Squad about a year ago and somehow Masked Rider was the worst of the bunch in my opinion. I'm kinda curious what they even would have done had the show been successful considering they wouldn't have had a new show to adapt and I can't see them going backwards to Super-1 since it's footage would look even more dated… And was kinda just weird, lol.

Anyway, far as the older Rider stuff goes I've watched at least some of the OG, V3, Amazon, Stronger, Super-1, Black, and RX. I feel like older Riders (and Sentai to a lesser extent) tend to have more extreme tonal whiplash at times because they're both more realistic from a sci-fi perspective at times but then switch into goofy child-friendly Tokusatsu mode at the drop of the hat. I dunno though, might just be me. They're definitely a trip to look at and compare to modern Tokusatsu for sure though.

Ehh, it was almost 16 years ago, it was just annoying really. An industry I quickly left given its vile nature.
The lads in the group were nice and hung/ate with the cast while the vocalist was off in her own diva-land.
