I noticed this quote in the more recent film versions of Stephen King's 'IT'. I think it's probably true to a large extent. I suppose it relates to trauma and PTSD. How much do you think traumatic events in your life have shaped who you are? Prevented you from becoming who you maybe had the potential to be? Or, fed into your ideation? Do you think you would have become an entirely different person if they hadn't happened? I think I probably would be substantially different if certain things hadn't happened- mostly in my childhood.
