Hmmm- but what are the chances of all these atoms/ particles forming either you or me again? As in- our consciousness? Is consciousness even 'made' of anything? If all the bits that were you happened to form something else at another point in time- would that be so bad- if you had no memory of who you are or your life now? Maybe you'll become a tree or something. Maybe you'll become a computer.
I think- people who hate their lives- so are naturally frightened of an afterlife (me included) just assume they will still be them in this afterlife- with the same consciousness and all the same problems. Even if some sort of recycling programme is going on in the universe- what makes you think it just duplicates things directly? If these forces are managing to pluck particles from nothing and then build things from them- why would they create either you or me again? Even snowflakes are all different. Are there even things on this planet that are absolutely identicle? (That haven't been cloned by us that is.) It just doesn't seem to be how nature works. Nature doesn't simply just replicate stuff.
Do you suppose the bit you might be most worried about being reincarnated- your consciousness is made up of particles or atoms? To me, I guess I think it acts more like a force. A force that seems to be reliant on a functioning brain. To create your body and your brain again some place else out of all the countless particles there must be. Plus- to get exact replicas of your parents to birth you. Plus- if you are worried about living EXACTLY the same life again- the entire earth will need to have been replicated just the same... Ok- it may be likely that life can come out of nothing but what are the chances that YOUR exact life will happen again?
Plus- if bits of you are recycled- who knows? Maybe you'll get your wish. Maybe some particles of you will be used way in the future in some other dimension where you have more chance to experience the life you want- with far superior computing power etc. I can't help but think of the member here who said they wanted to be reincarnated as a Sega Saturn. I thought that was brilliant!!
