i see some people hating.. i kind of agree with you though
there has been a good amount of people ive seen fear monger about shotguns?
a deep intraoral 12 gauge? and people are saying "well, you COULD LIVE.."
its a literal shotgun and the bullet moves faster than the speed of sound. and people fear monger about that.
genuinely. it perplexes me how its even conceivable to survive that and people still try to convince otherwise

By definition, I would say yes, they did. However, SN became popular only recently, and these studies are a few years old. I don't have anything to back this up, but SN attempts are still probably just a small portion of all self-poisoning attempts. Just because SN has a higher success rate compared to other poisons, the number of SN attempts might still not be enough to move the needle significantly in these statistics.
Also, SN might not be as effective as you think. Even here, a lot of people fail with it. SN can be successful if someone follows the standard, recommended protocol. However, not everyone can do that. It requires getting antiemetics, which is not easy. It also requires careful planning, ensuring the person is not found and saved, ensuring they don't back out and call an ambulance themselves, etc. Planning and executing a successful attempt is not easy.
These two effects combined might explain why SN attempts can be included in the statistics, while the overall success rate of self-poisoning attempts remains so low.
IMHO, a fuckedup life should be better than a further fuckedup one.
I have found some examples of failed attempts with shotgun.

Unrelated but I went on suicidewatch and after someone asked how painful hanging was theu were claiming hanging was terrible and that the person stayed conscious while strangled for several unbearable minutes before losing consciousness.... That's just plain untrue
Omfg I can't believe why people are trying to save the guys with failed shotgun attempt. Like why are you keeping him in that state? Just kill him out of his misery for God's sake. tbf if you do any method incorrectly it will land you with damage like this (well, except sn ig). All those shotgun attempts were incorrect. Same could be said for any other gun wound. Which i totally understand why people would have scrutiny against!IMHO, a fuckedup life should be better than a further fuckedup one.

But Its a fine line of people educating about common mistakes and ways to minimize it and just literal fear/anxiety even over correct methodology

They are here to make suicide looks harder than it actually is, and push people to nearly impossible to achieve methods. just like your "lost soul" since 2020.
And what exactly have I ever done to you? If you are gonna go out of your way to attack people who have done nothing to you, at least give some examples. I'd love to hear how I've made suicide look harder than it is, of course without you making broad and generalized statements based on my "experience".

@U. A. Is one of 7 people who replied to your post that've been on the site for that amount of time or longer. This is a pro-choice site, meaning it doesn't encourage people to die, it stands for the right of individuals to make their own decisions. There are plenty of users who have been around for years and are known to be trusted, valued members of the community.
If you're genuinely interested in responses to your OP, there's already been a discussion on page 1 of this thread, where people took the time to include links and explain in detail why some "well-known" methods can result in people left alive and suffering even more.
