A tree provides oxygen.
And you provide waste that destroys the environment. Being a virus isn't so bad if it's your purpose.

We're products of evolution and nature. The ancestor of all mammals was a ferret/raccoon from 65 million years ago.

Like all living things we've adapted to our environment. But why life started in the first place you'll need to ask the creator or machine elves 😉

everything comes from nothing the purpose of life is to evolve into more and more complex life forms to overcome the limits of biological life forms and to leave behind a better world than when we came into it, the secret to life is dna master that and you can create even better machines re engineer life itself, the pupose of life is to create and be created creativity the use of imagination to create something, from simple beginning to complex things complexify

I'm 52, so I think I have seen a thing or 2. The purpose I can see is for the unfortunate 99% of the world to exist so the 1% can keep gaining more wealth.
Even if your are in that 1%, it still doesn't matter because everyone dies eventually.

Life only exists as a tragic and unfortunate consequence of evolution and there is nothing more to it. As humans we are only waiting to cease existing, trapped in a futile and pointless cycle where everything that we knew will die with us. All that is inevitable for humans is suffering, loss and decay. I believe the fact that humans question the so called "point" of life is a result of their ability to be aware, animals don't question this as they are unable to, they only act in a way in which to benefit survival. But humans are conscious beings so they can fully recognise the true useless nature of existing, to me existence is nothing more than an unnecessary harm that never should have existed in the first place.

i think it differs from person to person. some of us have a purpose here or feel wanted enough to stay around. others have lives made only to amuse whoever is watching us above.

in other words, some are just made to live suffering lives until we have to take a suffering way out.

I think people often ask this in terms of- why am I putting up with all this suffering? What is the justification for it? I suppose it depends on whether you believe in God... If you do- it seems reasonable to ask what the big plan is- what you're supposed to be doing in it. If not though- if it's all just completely haphazard chance- chances are there isn't a reason or point behind it- it's just stuff that happens.

Ultimately- it's up to you at the end of the day- what you choose to believe. For now- we don't have definitive proof. I guess it's a case of finding what resonates with you. Some people manage to find fulfilment in their lives. That could be anything- it all qualifies- their job, ther relationships, helping others, lobying for a cause, a hobby, a really good boxset... Others feel like it's all pointless distraction and they resonate more with Nihilism.

some people say life is what you make, or that we are here to serve others, then others say we are here to be successful. I feel that I am just killing time until I decide that I no longer want it. Tbh, I believe the human race has failed. Sure there is good in the world, but there are also lots of other evil shit like wars, world hunger, epidemics, global warming, and lots of other nasty shit. I think one of the worse plagues of mankind is bringing other lifeforms into the world when they know that they have a high chance to suffer or cause more suffering. This planet has already reached nearly the 8 billion mark while the planet is dying and running out of resources. We are basically fucked no matter what we do in this life. However, if you have something or someone to cherish and love, hang on to it and just be thankful for that. Many of us (including me) don't have that anymore. Just try to feel blessed if you do. Peace ☮️

I just don't get it?
Deep down I feel as if there truly is no deeper purpose other than to repeat a cycle, go to work, be somewhat productive, get a kid or two, and let them do the exact same thing. If you can't benefit society somehow then what's the point really? I find myself in a position where I feel as if i honestly can't benefit it in any way. Yet if I were to put some sorta deeper meaning to it, I guess it's to be remembered somehow?

There's a very good movie about it: Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
It basically has all the answers. Not for the faint of heart though. Also R-Rated.

On a serious note - i increasingly think the meaning of life is not something to be "got" or figured out. It can only be experienced.

Watch the movie!

Very early on in the history of life on Earth propagating your genetic code became what life was centered around. That has continued to the present day. Why? That's just the way it is. Human intelligence capable of even pondering that question only came about because of those very principles.

Of course as sophont creatures we can reject that and make of life what we will. If we can't (or don't want to), well, that's why many are on this site.

Pretentious, or optimistic? Life is pretty damn complicated if you ask me. We are indeed advanced animals living in a world we don't understand, for a purpose we don't understand. But sure, we can ignore all of that and pretend we are just animals.
