Howdy! someone else probably had been asking these questions but i just want to know for sure,
What would happen to our body if we CTB in the hotel room?
What's the procedure for them to take care of my remains?
Are the hotel staff gonna make a fuss about it and demanding compensation to our family or not?
Also should i put a note and give one of my family member's phone number so they can contact my family about the news?
Sorry if this come across as a dumb question, i'm just wondering so atleast i'm being less hassle for my family
Thanks for answering!

Generally, in the US, the hotel staff will call the police, who will conduct an investigation and gather your personal belongings in the room. The coroner will transport your body for further investigation as to cause of death.

The hotel could make a demand on your family depending on how messy it is; your family isn't obligated to pay. The only way for the hotel to get paid is to make a claim against your estate.

A note with the next of kin contact information is probably a good idea along with a statement that you caught the bus and how you caught it; it would expedite the investigation.

You would most likely be cremated unless you specified otherwise and left funds for a burial. Leave your debit card and pin for your family to arrange your remains. Don't leave the financial burden on your family for a decision you made.

Would a hotel really file a lawsuit against the family? I am very worried please if someone else could answer this I would greatly appreciate it. I'm also wondering if I don't carry IDs and wipe everything off my phone so they don't know my identity would that deter the hotel from filing a lawsuit? I just want ctb in peace

so a few things:

- they could. it depends primarily upon how you go about your exit (whether you do it quietly in your room, whether you jump out of the window and scar every passerby, etc.) there's no real legal basis for them to sue anyone if you sit in your room quietly the entire time. another important factor is the optics of a large company suing a grieving family, which is probably why these sorts of things are very rare in nature.

- you'll need to use id to check into the hotel in the first place more than likely and, even if you don't, your family will end up IDing your body and 'blowing your cover' that way.

The country you're in would probably determine if they could/would bother your family. Some countries hold family accountable, but most western countries don't. I'm in Canada and I'm an adult, so there is no basis for anyone to go after my family for anything I do. But in some Asian cultures, government will hold family accountable for what we do.

I don't have anything to offer with your question relating to family. There's no one that will even know that I am dead. Don't care what they do with my body after they find me. You could research liability laws relating to hotels in your country, city. But I am going to put up a big white board or something inside of the room door entrance to warn the cleaning staff to call police instead of proceeding, I'll list why but haven't finalized wording yet. Just to try to spare them of finding a dead body. There's no other place for me to do it so want to try to not have hotel staff not have to discover my dead body. Sorry if I wasn't helpful but thanks for the post.

there are companies that do direct cremation plans with no funeral that you can pre-pay before you go, so you can just leave the paper work next to your body

I don't think that the OP is here anymore. They posted that they are taking the SN and they haven't been seen since. Rest in peace.
