Actions speak louder than words. Unfortunately some people just can't be bothered with putting in the work to help the ones they claim to "care" about.

I was working in bush regeneration last year with 3 other male coworkers and I made it clear that I suffered from poor mental health, ADHD and depression. I struggled to get to work on time, and found it was pretty labor intensive. I honestly tried to give it my best shot, but it always fell short.

Lone behold, they were talking shit about me the entire time I wasn't there with them, made subtle, snarky comments, being passive aggressive and using jokes to prod at me over time, and by the time I got to the breaking point and said it felt like bullying they just denied it.

I quit that job truly broken, having hoped to find people I'd get along with but instead it just reinforced the idea that most people are status-driven, superficially judgemental, and backstabbers. The way they talked about other coworkers rubbed me wrong too.

I've found the most difficult thing is when you are in a vulnerable time in your life, suffering from poor mental health or otherwise socially stunted - you try to reach out to new people but they reject you, spread rumors, and make a shitty caricature out of you.

Seems amazing. i haven't been on here too long but wish i'd discovered it much sooner. Since media already call it a cult someone should consider something like jones town 2.0. i'd want to spend the last of my time there
