So I have decided that this is it. I have a very hard time coping with my situation at the moment. It has been like this back and forth my whole life and I can't stand it anymore. I am not sure about when I am going to do it yet but I am at the stage of preparing it all. I might be overthinking everything but I am just about to order a rope and I just wanna check which length, thickness and material that would be ideal? I wanna do a partial hanging somewhere out in the woods. I would love some guidance on what is common and what I should aim for. I am thinking something like 7 meter rope and like 5mm thickness?

Sorry if I have just posted something that has already been discussed elsewhere. I have read the guides but could not find anything about material and sizes.

Thanks...

The thickness will be fine. Anything up to around 10mm will work too. 7 meters is quite long, even for full suspension. 4 will be more than enough, unless you have a particular anchor point in mind and know what you need. As for material, you want to look at the maximum load it can sustain so there is no chance for it to break. Materials such as polyester and cotton bondage rope are both good choices. I can't attest to the latter because I haven't tried it yet, but it is widely recommended. Conversely, you don't want something like nylon which can cut into your skin as the ligature tightens. Maybe someone else can chime in? I am by no means an expert on this topic.

Thanks for your advice <3 I just want my journey to be as safe as possible. Is't better to have a thin rope? I don't want my head to be ripped off when my body is found.

A thin rope will better assist in constricting the carotids as opposed to a bulky rope. Rest assured, your head will stay intact, especially with partial. It could only really happen with a miscalculated long drop hanging. :)
