I'm reading conflicting view on using either potassium nitrite or sodium nitrite, and I have both of them. Can anyone help explain if either of them is a preferred way to go. I had decided on SN, but then today I read a posting that it can have a 7-day delayed effect (with terrible physical damage), which contradicts everything I have read about it taking effect in about 40 minutes.
