As I've mentioned before, I work at a hotel. Not 2 hours ago, a guest came in from having taken his dog out to the dog walking area, white as a sheet. He said he thought he found a dead body over in the grass. Apparently, he tried to get a response by calling out to him then finally nudging his foot. The man didn't respond. I had to call 911.
It was an assumed suicide. They found a gun underneath his body, and he had left a note containing all the information they needed to contact his family, who lives out of state. He left behind a cat in his room, and the police had animal control to come get it. The room is now roped off with police tape, as well as the lawn area where he was found.
It really hit home with me. I could secretly relate. What surprised me was that he had chosen to do it outside instead of in his comfortable room. I guess we were lucky that he was thoughtful enough to avoid that.
The poor guy.
