How do you sn if you don't have a scale to measure? What would be the equivalent in tsp or tbsp.
Also how important is it that you follow the schedule to a T? Can you fast for a long period of time then take your reglan every 4 hours a couple times then the anti acid and the lorazepam/tramadol with the SN? How crucial is following the schedule and protocol?

You can look up how many grams of powder your spoon of choice usually holds. Many people just use teaspoons. As for the regimen, @Stan guide or the best bet there. Just search it in the search bar or check the resources. I would follow it as best you could.

I apologise if your budget is limited, but digital scales are available on Amazon, etc, for between £3-8 in my country. They're usually accurate to at least 2 decimal places.

EDIT: Just to add further detail, most compact digital scales can measure up to 100g at a time, but each model should specify their weight capacity.

Are they necessary? To be honest the reason I was asking all this was because I was wanting to start the protocol to CTB tonight. I haven't been doing well eating or drinking since Saturday and I started taking metro/reglan I'm just overwhelmed with everything I need to do but at the same time I don't want to die. I got diarrhea however from the reglan and I've decided that I should get something to eat and practice self care instead and try to tackle my list instead of giving up tonight even though I want to the thought of failing sounds even scarier. Now I'm looking for something to eat in my apt even though I haven't gone to the grocery store in almost 2 weeks because I thought I was going to CTB

I haven't had good experiences with inexpensive scales. The ones I've had weigh the same thing differently depending on what position they're in. I intend to stick with standard kitchen measures. One tablespoon is close to 15g of SN.

@aloneintheworld, I'm sorry about everything that's led you to this. If you're in doubt please get something nutritious to eat and hydrate yourself, then get some good rest. We can worry about measurements when you feel a bit better, ok? (((Hugs)))

Imo yes they are necessary. The last thing you want is to fail because of poor guesswork.

honestly? id just put 2 tablespoons in. make a backup just in case you throw up or it's not enough. add as little water as possible - if it's thick add more. drink both, if possible. there's absolutely no way 4 tablespoons of SN is less than 20g. i believe 1 tablespoon is 15 g but i could be wrong.
that is how i'm planning to do it. you should probably listen to others & just get a scale, though.

Noticed lots of people asking about measuring Sodium Nitrite (NaNO2). Wiki and other sources list SN's weight/volume characteristic (relative density) to be: 2.168 g/cm3 (grams per cubic centimeter) - very close to regular salt NaCl at 2.17 g/cm3. The SN density is for anhydrous SN and the word "anhydrous" means it's practically free of water versus some type of liquid SN mixture. Some people see the word anhydrous and are unsure WTH it means. Anyway, the conversion of tablespoon to cm3 is: 1 Tablespoon = 14.786765 cm3. So every tablespoon of SN is roughly 2.168 g/cm3 * 14.786765 cm3/Tbs = 32g/Tbs. As an aside, SN solubility (mixing/dissolving) in water is very good - as discussed everywhere - almost 85g can be successfully dissolved in water at 25 °C (77 °F). Of course 85g is .... no pun intended .... overkill. Open to critiques/criticisms if I've missed something. Not sure why pictures of huge quantities of SN being measured out make sense ..... again, open to correction(s) for any detail(s) I may have overlooked. Note: many references for regular salt cite about 18-20g/Tbs, which is closer to what @Fallen leaf weighed ..... much of the difference is related to moisture content, how tightly packed (ideally filling measuring device) a substance is when measured, and other factors. Either way, it appears that 1 Tbs or at most 1.5 Tbs is sufficient.
Yes i got the same calculated results. So if you dont have a scale and you wanna do 25g of sn then i guess you could do 1 tbs then take away about 1/4 of it

so basically 3/4 tablespoon is about 25g of SN

... ??? The post from @TrailerTrash indicates that 1 tablespoon = 18-20g. To get 25g you need to *add* 1/4 of a tablespoon.

The post from @TrailerTrash takes the minor difference between SN and salt into account.

the density of SN is
2.168 g/cm3

so with 25g / 2.168 g = 11.53

25g will take up 11.53 cm3 of space

so how many tbsp is 11.53 cm3? the calculator online gave me 0.77 US tbsp

Thanks for the clarity, @snowman626. As I said earlier, for me one standard 15g tablespoonful will be close enough. x

3/4 teaspoon is pretty much close to a tablespoon, right? Because if so I'd rather just do the tablespoon.

3/4 of a TABLESPOON is close to a tablespoon - 75% of one, in fact. I intend to just do the tablespoon.

Ah, I read that incorrectly, sorry about that. I'll be doing a tablespoon as well. Might as well.

Correct - I'm using about 1 1/4 for my upcoming CTB with two spare ready to go in case I get sick ... but I have antiemetics and Wellbutrin that I will have been on for a while also is a D2 blocker as it turns out.

So you have weighed one tablespoon of SN on a scale and it was 15gs?
