Prob a stupid question & the answer will prob be no. But if you have had SN seized by UK customs recently, due to a welfare check. Is there anyway to get it back from the authorities given SN isn't illegal so they may not have grounds to confiscate it?

For anyone who initally had their SN seized at UK customs, did you ever get it in the end?

Afaik SN is a reportable substance in the UK since October. I assume you need a licence (and probably business) to acquire it. There are threads where this is discussed already you can use the search.

Edit: Just an idea: plan a trip to the EU, get SN and go back by ferry, customs may not check every traveler.

How about go abroad and then send it in the mail from there? Label it as a gift and I think you'd be very unlucky to be busted.

Not a bad idea that. Like sending small amounts each time & disguise it as a table salt / food related gift. Used to do that with sending weed back from Amsterdam. Because when it is small amounts to fit in say, a postcard, don't think Customs cared to check it. Ironically it seems easier to smuggle an illegal drug in Cannabis to the UK than import a legal substance in SN.

Take it that those who have had their SN seized at UK customs previously, you didn't ever get it back?

Small amounts each time is a good shout. Increases the odds of at least some of it getting through.

A slight word of caution: considering how authoritarian the UK is now - if you're already on their radar, such as having had a welfare check, your name & address may well be on some list of sorts at customs and they'll check out your package no matter what i is. I'm not saying they definitely do that but I wouldn't be surprised.

This is not the case, anyone can buy it - all it being a reportable substance means is that sellers are required to report it being stolen in large quantities and also if they have safety concerns about someone buying from them. It doesn't affect the ability to buy or own it

We'll need to ascertain what the law actually is.

I don't know the exact UK law regarding this, what I know and how I understood it was form posts here on the forum. I don't remember the thread but afaik SN has been added to a list of "restricted/reportable" substances. The facts are that private individuals in the UK have practically no chance to acquire it anymore.

Regarding SN law. See post 20 Here; https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/warning-sn-from-ic-traceable-by-the-fbi.117200/#post-1976310

When asked about SN being a reportable substance, @Dot kindly responded with the following;

"Thnk tht mns tht = legl 2 sell 2 n.e1 e.g nt regul8td
Howevr if r sellng 2 specfc grps thn thse sales mst b reportd 2 certn authrties
S/ sellrs hve chosn 2 nt sell 2 indivdls"
[/center]

So back then from a buyer's point of view (i.e. me), there was nothing to worry about given SN's status as a "reportable substance". Apart from an unfriendly welfare visit but the SN usually got through customs. What I suspect is that things have been updated since 1/10/23 on police welfare visits & seizing SN at customs. So now now SN no longer gets through customs. But don't think the reportable substance bit about the law has changed?

During my welfare visit, the police were questioning me on why I brought it from abroad rather than the UK. So if you can find a seller in the UK (who will sell you SN) then I think that is the way to avoid products being seized at customs like me. Also the police mentioned that when the product got to customs big red flags alerted them. So basically I don't see how any individual can import SN via UK customs anymore with these changes since 1/10/23.

So I therefore ask again, to those who have had their SN seized at UK customs previously, you didn't ever get it back? (presumably not but worth asking)

SN is on the radar, especially since the IC debacle. Reputable sellers of the the product will not ship it to the UK without the required documentation, and they will also declare what it is when shipping. Going forward, it will probably be a dark-web item where it can be shipped incognito. Sad, but that's where we are.

I think the conservative gov have been pushing the anti sucide movement in the uk. the sooner they are out the better. heard labour are supporters of right to die movement. there is at least one of their MP's who are;

"Paul Blomfield, a Labour MP, was visibly emotional when he told how his father was among the estimated 650 terminally ill people who take their own lives annually.

"They are lonely, often very difficult deaths and my father was one of them," he said. "He actually took that decision shortly after he sat down with a Macmillan nurse and had been through what his last months might look like."
www.theguardian.com/society/2023/mar/28/assisted-dying-inquiry-hears-people-in-uk-face-unbearable-suffering

So the sooner the TORIES are in power the better IMO.
