Perhaps letters to politicians demanding we have methods at our disposal to allow us to exit early.

If the letters fail, perhaps those politicians that take away our right to peace, have their peace taken away....

They always seem to put hotlines at the end of articles like this. I doubt they would take away anyones real problems. I cannot stand pro lifers. Restricting methods would just mean that people have to resort to methods like hanging and jumping. It will not reduce suicide at all, it will just mean that people resort to more horrible methods.

If people want to buy SN, then they should just be allowed to do so. Its the individuals choice and I see it as cruel trying to force people to live. What is the point to trying to trap people in lives filled with misery, just for them to die eventually. Death happens to us all so we deserve to have some control over when it happens.

I wish pro-lifers would just live by their beliefs and leave the rest of us alone. I have no problem with a pro-life view and people can choose to live and not ctb if they're going through a difficult time in their life. The problem is when they start pushing their views onto other people. Pro-choicers don't force pro-lifers to die but pro-lifers love forcing suicidal people to live. People should just live by their beliefs and stop restricting everyone else and taking away their freedom.

Recently I started to consider buying SN because I realized that jumping from a nearby suicide bridge (my original method) might not kill me. Now I can't even get SN anymore. I guess I'm just going to have to jump off that bridge and risk living with brain damage for the rest of my life because some pro-lifers want to keep everyone alive in this hellhole called Earth for some unfathomable reason

I wonder how many people are ironically being driven to an earlier suicide by them doing this.

Many people get a feeling of safety from just having SN available, I know I do. Some probably feel like they can live on just a little longer, with the knowledge that a relatively peaceful method is available to them whenever they need. But sure, take that away and increase their FOMO anxiety, definitely can't lead to anything bad. Nice job, pro-life idiots.

restricting access to methods does not prevent suicide, only makes people suffer for longer and go through with more gruesome methods. people who want to die will do it. i am scared about getting in trouble over sn so recently i have changed my decsion to full suspension hanging. i have not changed my ctb date, only my method. i hope there would be justice against the pro lifers but i know there never will be. so me, and many other like me, will do nothing but suffer worse deaths than we otherwise would have.

I share the same sentiments too, and yes, if the people who wish to exit peaceful aren't able to and even more so, exiting at all, then they are left with no other options but that of a 'cornered animal'. And we all know what cornered animals do naturally? I think most of us understand my reference.

And also, there is the result of collateral damage too, unwilling participants getting affected due to the desperation of the suicidal to exit sentience. These may include those who jump and traumatize others (from a building, near a train), first responders finding a decomposing mangled body, and more.

True regarding MAiD (I'm a US citizen though) and with that, the stringent criteria (along with the medical professionals and government being the gatekeepers of this system/process) makes it difficult to qualify. I believe next March (in 2023), they will determine whether to include mental illnesses and psychological suffering as qualifying factors to access MAiD and I hope they do as that would the step in the right direction.

I know having SN makes me less anxious. Actually helps me try to live my life, and get better, Knowing I have a way out of it gets too bad. Restricting access to safe methods makes people feel trapped and only adds to their anxiety and suffering.
47 people. That's 47 less people that had to be scraped off the pavement, found hanging from their ceiling, or with their head blown off. That's sad they think they are helping.

@picklemick so true, I have health anxiety and thinking about death and how painful and scary a natural death or suicide by hanging etc. could be makes my anxiety so much worse. Knowing I (hopefully) can get something like N or SN makes me so much more relaxed and happier.

Same with the people that want this site shut down. I had so much anxiety the day it was down for maintenance. The discussion and information makes people feel at ease and suicide less scary. Not to mention the support of other people suffering. I obviously feel for the parents that lost their children. But their son or daughter was clearly suffering to make that choice. And I feel that's selfish of a parent to force their suffering child to stay alive for their own well being.

Restrictions might be already put to work in Canada. Tried looking for SN for a couple days now, there are no links (at least through normal browsers) that point to SN at the level of purity required to commit. Tried using ebay (just maybe if I was lucky, I also think I saw somebody say they found theirs over there) and the website auto corrects nitrite to nitrate. Unsure if anybody can confirm this ? (Or maybe I am just bad at searching)

Tried using tor, I am getting more legit-looking websites using tor than using a generic browser. Also without a proxy, I found some websites selling SN, but only to registered businesses with a registered address and stuff. Nothing a particular would likely be able to get through imo
