I hope that you find freedom from your suffering. I can imagine that it must be a relief having everything planned out, at least I know that I would be relieved if I had SN. Best wishes.

I thought they did away with the antacid recommendation?

Apparently antacids prolong the time to reach unconsciousness, by how much I don't know?
Oh, you did some homework and found that to be right? So, the OP maybe doesn't need them then.

The megathread is so long, can't find the exact location for those claims but somebody in a recent post explained in a very scientific way how antacids are no longer needed because they increase the time it takes to pass out. I've done enough research to feel comfortable in my regimen: no antacids, antiemetic dopamine antagonist to prevent vomiting, betablocker for tachycardia, OTC painkiller. Fasting for 8 hours. 25g SN in 50-100 mL water, backup with another 25g in case I hurl, which from I read is likely even with an antiemetic. Listerine mouthwash gargle before and after drinking the SN b/c even the taste triggers a vomit reflex. Even with all these precautions in place I'm fully prepared for the nausea and headaches which apparently grow in intensity till unconsciousness is reached, which from what I gather in the successes/failures thread can take up to 30 min. It's hardly a 'painless' way to go but compared to how others throughout human history have ctb (self-immolation, ritual disembowlment —ouch) it is pretty low on the pain scale.

Antacids reduce the acidity in the stomach, they shouldn't be confused for an Antiemetic which prevents Vomiting. Antacids won't help with SN absorption, however antiemetics will, as it will prevent the loss of Nitrites due to vomiting.

Very nice to put it into perspective. Compared to "self-immolation, ritual disembowlment", it's not going to be as bad as all of that. That's why I have to remember what it felt like to drink anti-freeze engine coolant. I was violently ill from it and had to spend an entire week in the hospital. It was awful.

The METO also speeds gastric emptying which should help get it into the intestines quicker.

I hear people saying it's uncomfortable as opposed to painful no?

thank you, i was afraid of tachycardia, but the little proverbial bulb went on and i rememberd that my sister takes atenolol, and that took care of the last symptom i couldn´t get around, now the only thing to control is SI

Sounds good to me. I'd add to make sure you have a second glass/dose, just in case. Peace.

I'm glad you remembered the atenolol. Yes, the SI, that, is taking some practice.
