I feel like pretty much all you need to know is in Stans Guide. The SN megathread has always been a clusterfuck.

I have never really looked at it before so I do not know what is supposedly so bad about it. I do think megathreads are a good thing generally, because if there wasn't one there would be constant individual threads being created about SN.
