I'm really sorry, Winter. Besides the fact that it's wrong and illegal, why sign for something you have no idea what's inside? I hope you can get it back, I'm seriously irritated for you. I have nothing but issues with my packages.

I think it just says preservative salt or something like that. Hopefully they don't consume it!

I have no idea why they'd sign for it if they weren't expecting anything.

I think so, but it doesn't say which address they delivered the package to, so I'm afraid to go knocking on everyone's doors.

Go knock on your neighbors doors. Don't be afraid. This is exactly what I was paranoid about with my SN packages. I was paranoid that my neighbor would steal and think it was cocaine or something, he'd ingest it, die then I would get the blame because my address is on it. In another scenario, I was worried that the package would rip somehow in the box, and the mailman would get sick. Then again, I'd be charged for manslaughter or something. I'm sorry this has happened to you. Very sorry because I would be crushed. So go and knock on everyone's door. I would do the entire street. I hope everything works out.

I called the local post office several times and no one answered the phone.

Just submitted a lost package report and I'll talk to the next few buildings.

Yo… since your package says preservative salt, you have no idea what they could do with that. They might decide to try it out and end up killing themselves. It's worst case scenario but your package is labeled as essentially safe for consumption and that's not good. If you know the address where it was delivered, do something about it.

I got the package! It was delivered to a neighbor in another building that looks similar to mine. Fortunately they didn't open it!

The sticker on the front of the packet inside the envelope has a skull and crossbones symbol, and some other warning labels, so (thankfully) it's doubtful they would have consumed it.

@UnravelingWinter was the very outside of the package discreet - ie no hint of the contents? I ask because my housemates will raise so many red flags (and probably commit me) if they think I'm receiving something poisonous. IC customer service told me the outer packaging is "discreet" and has "no harzadous labeling", but I'm paranoid :(

Thanks in advance, and I'm glad you got your package :)

The packaging is extremely discreet. There's nothing to indicate what's inside other than some size-10 font on the back. It's very hard to notice unless you're looking for it.

I placed an order and it wasn't to my home but a ups store where I have an account. The order said delivered by the website and courier but the store hasn't said there is a package there... They usually let me know by email. I guess I should call them right away. Hope the parcel wasn't indicative of anything they thought should not be in the store. I should also confirm the address with the supplier.

On another note, does anyone in Canada know how to get propranolol without a script? I am not sure about those shady websites which may give you something fake or with other compounds which are not intended to actually lower BP.

If anybody knows if any sources, I'd really appreciate it. I know Canada customs will likely search every package coming in from a foreign country and may get seized.... So trying to avoid if possible. If not on Canada, that's fine but I need to get my hands on it soon... My time is almost out for medical reasons beyond anyone's control.

BTW, do you really think propranolol is needed for SN to ctb? I'm sure it helps quite a bit as a vasodilator but correct me if I'm wrong. Everything I've read about using SN as a method requires some form of beta blocker. Not sure if that includes atenolol, metoprolol, cavedilol, etc.

I don't know where to get Propranolol, sorry. It's not needed, but it does help you lose consciousness faster because it prevents the heart from speeding up to compensate for the lack of oxygen reaching the brain. I think with Propranolol you lose consciousness in 10-12 minutes, and without it you might need 15-20 minutes? Also SN already causes vasodilation I think, which can cause headaches in some people.

Propranolol for SN is only to keep tachycardia in check. SN will make your heart race. It's not a painful experience but is uncomfortable and can increase anxiety. So, the propranolol isn't really for much, just sort of a ""luxury"" but I get wanting to have it. I've been prescribed it in the not-distant past and am considering asking for a new one.

That's an important point for anybody choosing SN who, for whatever reason, might be prematurely found. SN doesn't leave permanent damage BECAUSE the heart rate increases to compensate for oxygen not reaching the brain. You'll still die, but your brain will have oxygen right up to the end (long past loss of consciousness), so if you're found and treated you will likely be okay. If you prevent that compensation to the brain, you might be much more likely to have damage if found prematurely. I wonder if there's more information about this theory?

I know that the 3 body parts which require the just amount of oxygen include the liver, heart and brain. The one that requires the most is the liver, then the brain and then the heart. So understanding that the brain requires a large amount of oxygen I don't know how somebody can ingest sodium nitrite and not have any brain dysfunction or damage. I guess that if found early enough and given the antidote, then maybe brain damage would not occur. But as you said, if you are not found for quite some time but are alive you will likely have some degree of brain damage. I don't know too much about this as I haven't researched it enough. Maybe people on this forum can attest to that in the sense that they took large amounts of sodium nitrite but was found quite late, treated and then developed some sort of cognitive dysfunction.

From what I've learned, the heart rate increases to be quite rapid after ingesting SN. This is because of the lack of oxygen in the bloodstream. The body compensates by increasing blood flow to the brain. That's why people with aborted/failed SN attempts tend to not have brain damage. The body is still able to protect the brain in this method right up until death is imminent (at which point medical treatment is unlikely to be effective).

That seems to make sense, however if they took a good amount of beta blocker which slows down the heart rate, then perfusion the the brain would be quite low. I would think in these cases (where they took enough SN and beta blocker) they would definitely have died or had some negative cerebral outcome. I don't know but just thoughts. I really don't want to fail and then have brain damage and/or organ damage. I'll try to search the forum to see if somebody who survived a lethal dose of SN and good amount of propranolol or similar.
