@Moonicide may she rest peacefully is the inspiration here in our search for knowledge of a dignified exit.

Would anyone be interested in witnessing (at a later date) my CTB with SN or having me or somebody else you're partnered with witness your CTB via a phone call or preferably FaceTime video? I think this could be a start to better documentation for this seemingly promising method, and think it could be comforting having someone there in the last moments, even if nothing is said.

Let me know your thoughts or PM me. I hope I haven't pushed the boundaries too far on this one, if I did, I really didn't intend to. I read the rules and from what I read I stuck inside them.

Moonie's thread is very enlightening as is the analysis by @Lotus1818. I think a word of caution is warranted in how the sitter is affected by witnessing a person's final moments.

From my personal experience, my brothers and I discovered our dad who had OD'd on phenobarb. The sight of the medics performing cpr has haunted me 8 years...I still see his face.

And I've thought about doing the same thing if anyone was interested. Or even just to not be completely alone/could also be for Documentation.

Also, I know it's not my business but is Lotus doing okay? I know they were taking a little break after everything and don't recall seeing anything from them.

Anyone know if there's any potential legal risks in this? I can very much see the value of doing the documenting and being the one being documented. My only concern is phone records and what not and being witness to a suicide that is not being reported.

Super awesome of you to be that selfless. It takes a lot of trust and love to let people into your world at that vulnerable a time.

I'd be willing to both witness and be witnessed. I think the time of CTB is a very personal thing, but I also imagine it could possibly being a very lonely moment :(

There are potential legal risks, but FaceTime audio and FaceTime video specifically speaking are end to end encrypted and cannot be seen by anybody unless one party decides to reveal their device to the authorities. Phone carriers and ISPs would have no record of such a call, even Apple couldn't reveal any specifics about the call to themselves. Just the same with iMessage (blue bubbles) vs the very not secure SMS.

As far as being affected by death, I'm used to it, been around a lot of corpses and have witnessed time of death in peaceful and not so peaceful ways. I'm willing to take the risk.
