SN delivery to the UK

Hi all,

I've seen a few conflicting experiences with receipt of SN in the UK. Is it that it'll get destroyed at customs or will the delivery be fulfilled? Is the well-being check by police known to happen after delivery?

I was wondering if putting some bogus company name on the address would evade detection? Something linked to the type of companies that commonly procure it? Perhaps even getting it delivered to an abandoned address even or a shared HMO with a random name and turning up and just saying "used to live here, got some mail to collect".

I don't think anyone knows exactly what triggers a welfare check.
I didn't get one, earlier this year (UK also). It may have changed since then and the situation may be changing fairly quickly. I used my real name/address. It's not illegal (yet), I had nothing to hide.
Other people report it being confiscated at customs, or the order being taken but then being cancelled unexpectedly when it should have shipped (this might be simple stock/logistics or a tap on the shoulder, who knows), or it being delivered but then getting a fairly aggressive welfare check (don't let them in, and get it off premises beforehand if possible), or getting a simple welfare check where telling them it had been disposed off was enough, or one order being confiscated by customs and triggering a welfare check but the next order going through no problems, possibly using a different supplier. It's a lottery it seems. Maybe I just got lucky.
But it does seems that certain suppliers now trigger a welfare check.
Maybe its pot luck after that. I doubt customs have the resources to check every single small parcel coming into the country (assuming you order from abroad). But that's just a guess, who knows other than customs themselves.
I don't know about using a fake name/address, I didn't. I suppose if there is another address you can use where it won't get picked up by someone else then that might help. If you had tracked delivery you'd know when it was supposed to be or had been delivered.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write that all out. Great that you managed to get hold of some without any problems.

I fear the police can be determined with these things. I had an incident as a teenager where I had said to someone I wanted to kill myself and they came to the family home and wouldn't leave until I came out of the room. Even my words weren't enough.

Unfortunately I can't seem to see your DM at all. I can't even see the original one I sent you. Must be to do with my newbie status / low post count.

Maybe I'll have to do a midnight raid on a Bernard Matthews factory and find where they prep the corned beef! I think I'll be okay sourcing it with some VPN tricks. It's a very new idea for me as I had never considered SN until some weeks ago. Seems a "clean" way to go.
