SN Aquarium Test Questions

So i did the aquarium test using the 2 glass method as in the sn bible, and the strips detected the 5mg/L sn in cup 2 but for cup 1 w 10 mg/L the strips always turned out so the nitrite square is blank. Even retrying in the same cup the same thing happened. Is something up with the cup i guess? They are both new cups 1 is unused 1 is used once i forget which.
Also just gound out my scale doesnt do decimals during this experiment ugh so i tried 2 grams at first and then rounded up to 3 grams by the scale instead of 2.5

Maybe you just typed your post incorrectly, or maybe you did the test incorrectly.

Something is wrong with that sentence. Cup 1 should have 5 GRAMS / liter. Not 5mg or 10mg. You then draw 2mL of water per liter from cup 1 and drop it into cup 2.

If you meant to say that cup 2 has 5g/l (and you just flipped the cups. 5g in cup 2 instead of cup 1) then what color does the test strip turn when you dip in cup 2? Does it instantly turn dark pink, beyond what the test strip is designed to read? Or does it change color to within the test strip designed range?

Edit: I also just say this is a couple weeks old post. Hopefully you figured it out already.
