  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I have a really rare gastro-esophageal condition (achalasia), which makes me worried about whether SN would be successful in my case. Specifically, since achalasia significantly impairs my ability to swallow (unless I accompany whatever I'm trying to eat with plenty of water, for example) and regurgitation can sometimes happen when my esophagus can't handle certain things, I'm doubting whether I could keep a poisonous substance down and have it travel the full length of my esophagus.

If I fail, I'm also worried about GI damage, since I already have significant GI symptoms I struggle with on a daily basis as a result of my condition.

This is a really, really far shot, but does anyone know of a member here who took SN while having a medical condition involving impaired (or at least slowed) swallowing? In the likely scenario that this is not anything anyone's ever heard of, does anyone know about lasting GI-related effects of SN?

I have SN and meto, so I'm basically ready to CTB, but I'm seriously questioning if this would be the right method for me after thinking this through.
