Just an interesting read, that it was only 1g and in tablet form. Says the tablets are used in the medical and dental field to clean instruments so they are sterile, so must be widely available?
Also says she was hysterical which makes me worried a little.

I read it before. It made me question what kind of nitrite was available in that office compared to whats online. Since it took 1 gram vs the recommended at least 15 grams.

I would hypothesize that she was hysterical from either surprise at her symptoms (if she took the tablet accidentally), or from overwhelming emotions (if she took it as a suicide attempt). It isn't made clear in the article which was the case, probably because it was never definitively determined.

I would very much doubt there was something fundamental to the SN (whether the variant she used or SN in general) which caused her to experience hysteria or could do so with others. So I really don't think that is something you need to be worried about. If you have read both the PPH and Stan's Guide, you will know how to minimize any symptoms and anticipate any symptoms you may still experience. As such, you are unlikely to become upset, much less to the point of hysteria.

In terms of availability, I have no idea whether SN is still widely available in tablet form for disinfection purposes. I would point out that the article is now 30 years old, so things may well have changed since then either as disinfection methods are improved or as the suicide potential of certain chemicals is recognized.

Perhaps she was extremely petite, thin and anorexic. We don't know her weight do we? Also, it's possible that her genetic makeup makes her more vulnerable to Sn. Just as some people have adverse reactions to certain medications, she may have the same with SN.
