I currently have a very strong sleeping disorder since 1,5 months. First I was always wide awake early in the morning and woke up several times during the night. Now additionally I cannot fall asleep. I ruminate about suicide, my illness and the horrible past/future for hours. I think I probably turn manic/depressed soon. I take several kind of medication which barely works.

Many people with all kind of illnesses develop sleep disorders. So I wanted to ask you about your sleep? How have you slept last night?
I slept 7 hours and woke up very often. Normally I need 9 hours sleep to feel stable. I ruminated roundabout 3 hours

I have insomnia sometimes but am able to sleep throughout night usually, as long as I take my anti anxiety med as well as sometimes w/ a natural otc melatonin, chamomile, lavender sleep aid.
I can relate to ruminating about suicide, & past/future worries etc.though it's usually during the day that I do that & before bed. I wish you peace. maybe you can switch meds &/or explore natural sleep alternatives?

I used to have severe insomnia until last year, but now I sleep adequately, despite having nightmares every time.

I had bad insomnia before being put on medication. It's not a fun experience and I became very scared, frail, paranoid and borderline psychotic. I'm very stable now on mirtazapine and pregabalin and just regular depressed.

I've had a debilitating sleep disorder for over 20 years and it's ruined my life because if I don't sleep, I get headaches. However, since I've started to drink coconut water in the night when I wake up, the headaches aren't as bad. And that has made my insomnia better because I'm not worried about not sleeping and having a headache the next day.

I take Ami's - they are antidepressants and I can't be bothered to look up the correct spelling at the moment and they help me sleep - but blow me down - my eyesight has got worse since being on them.

Have you tried listening to ASMR videos on Youtube? They make me dribble on my pillow - so relaxing. Good job I'm single.

It took me a while to get to sleep and I always stay up too late as well. I do not think I got enough sleep. I just feel so tired. I wish I could fall asleep and never wake again. I am done with this life.

I sleep poorly. Have since I was a caretaker for someone who was dying. Loud noise around the clock makes it infinitely worse. City/state officials have told me we "don't have any right to quiet," regardless HOA or rental contract rules. I guess noise isn't a big issue for most people, but the inability to get some peace--certainly enough to fall AND STAY asleep--has ruined me. I fantasize about a surgical procedure to become deaf so I can escape the cacophony and lie down to escape life for 6+ hours a night. Sorry if this post was so much about noise instead of poor sleep, but it's the main reason I can't sleep.

7 months in to sleeping problems. It's just become life now. I get to sleep by imagining my moment of death very graphically. Oddly it's the only thing that soothes me to sleep. I'm fucked.

Good idea for a thread @noname223 . I hear a constant humming/droning noise, along with normal high-pitched tinnitus, as well as chronic pain, so sadly I hardly ever sleep well and I'm extremely sleep deprived, which of course is not great for mental health. It's totally exhausting. Last night probably 3 hours. Occasionally I'll take a Zopliclone from the stash I kept by when I was on it, but I've got very few left and the doctor won't give me anymore as they're addictive. I've tried white/pink noise with headphones and other soundscapes, to little avail.

The only way I fall asleep is with 45mg mirtazapine, 6mg Lunesta and 4mg of lorazepam. I still wake up for at least one to two hours during the middle of the night. If I don't take my meds I just won't sleep.

It's been going terrible as of lately. The worst part is that I had my sleep schedule under control for about a week after trying a low carb diet, but my lack of self control and the fact that I lost my sleeping headphones (how the fuck did I managed to lose something in my apartment without leaving for weeks?) have made everything even worse.

I've suffered from them since I was a child, and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that I have no memory of a restful night.

Insomnia - does it matter if bipolar factors in or not? I slept 4 hours last night, pretty much the same most nights, and work in excess of 8 hours daily, 7 days a week. I'm hoping that I'll collapse and not wake up - saves me the agony of wondering about autopsies, cremation and how to ctb.

Mind just won't shut up. Heart won't stop bleeding, and less than 28 days before I leave this torment.

Hi, I'm sorry you have to deal with noise a lot. Have you tried earplugs & a fan (white noise), putting pillow over head or noise canceling headphones? Also good sleep aids: lorazepam, etc & melatonin, chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, kava, valerian. I wish you peace & good nights rest

I've been sleeping like a creature for the past week or so after I lost a really supportive friend of mine. When I laid down I'd just start crying, so after a while I have to get back up and do something to distract myself. Nowadays it's just suicidal thoughts in my mind, or thinking about where to do it, or hunger pangs keeping me up at night. I feel like I've been getting weaker and weaker out of this though, hah

I have non-24 so my sleep moves forward each day. Nothing I've tried doing is very useful in fixing it. It will gleefully still give me insomnia even after four days with little sleep, from my futile battles of trying to stop it.

My sleep is beyond a joke at this point. I have chronic fatigue so I am exhausted 24/7. Sleep is never refreshing and feels pointless. On top of that I developed lower back pain 2 months ago so I've been sleeping on the floor since (for the hard surface). Which in turn means I wake up with all my joints aching and just feeling like shit all the time still. Truly a crappy existence.

I was rammed from behind by a giant SUV on the highway years ago. Since then, I also have bad back pain. Of course, medicine can't/won't do anything about it. Like you, I sleep on the floor. And you're dead on that one of the costs is you wake up after a few fitful hours of sleep with multiple joints on fire. What do you use for relief? Ice packs? Rolling? Any analgesics?
ich werde immer so ca 0330 uhr Nacht wach
Ich gehe erst gegen 4 Uhr morgens ins Bett. Der einzige Vorteil unseres Zeitplans ist, dass es zu diesen Zeiten ruhig ist.

I sleep on average 4 hours a night but wake up with anxiety every hour or so. I also do 2x night shifts a week which are 12.5 hour shifts so those two nights I'm awake.

I feel like a zombie all day everyday
