For the past few months I've been sleeping for most of the day (12+ hours) and when I'm awake I feel extremely fatigued and sedated. I can't control it, I just pass out randomly. Does anyone else have this problem and how can I manage it? I take a benzo and I wonder if that's what causes it. Before I had this problem it was the opposite where I'd be awake all day and sleep 4 hours, I went from one extreme to the other.

Maybe you should consult your doctor and modify treatment to obtain better sleep balance

benzos do fuck with rem sleep so they will make you sleep longer and make you feel less rested. I LOVE sleeping. I sleep all day and drink all night.

Maybe you should switch your benzo, those seem to be very strong.

Yeah, since you went from one extreme to the other it sounds like the benzo. I'd talk to a doctor about it.

I take Klonopin and risperdal. When I started the medication over two years ago I was constantly tired during the day. I would easily pass out for five hours at a time on the weekends and then sleep at night with no problem. I adjusted the risperdal several times and I think my body finally adjusted to both medications. I sleep on the weekends a lot but I'm technically not falling asleep and usually just laying in bed.

It's most likely your medication causing the issue. If you are ok with sharing what benzo are you taking and how much?
