Finally my first own topic, there's always been some others that spiked my interest, so I never got around to make one 😄

Pretty much title, to go into a little more detail:
So after spamming this forum like a madman for basically the the last 32h and not sleeping at all last night I feel quite better and more alive than I did for weeks. I'm honestly mildly weirded out by this, but in a positive way. Not sure how this worked out this way. Could be also just the lovely community and the ability that I could genuinely help a few people with their questions about life while also having interesting insights myself. I also had a few nice chats with some lovely people here via DM.

Does this happen to you to?
Do you experience a heightened mood compared to before when sleep deprevating?
Do you notice any positive mood changes in yourself from using this site? More specifically the Suicide Discussion section which I would expect rather the opposite of usually? Or rather DMs?

I know this sounds a bit stupid, but I really wonder, please tell me your experiences, discuss and vote! ❤️

I have noticed that sleep deprivation can sometimes improve my mood. I think it's because I don't have the energy to engage in negative thoughts. I just kind of "exist" and stop thinking whatsoever.

But I think the community you found here might have more to do with it! That's the irony of SaSu: people come to end their lives, but sometimes end up deciding to stay (at least longer than planned) because of the support and empathy they get here. Many end up making friends, close friends, which also helps to abate suicidality. So your experience is not so bizarre, and certainly not stupid!

Interesting theory, you might be onto something there. This is really the thing that baffled me most tbh. I didn't really trait for years, rather tried to keep up with sleep hygiene and a clear rhythm, although it often didn't work out especially without some meds (been taking 25 mg Quetiapin just to doze off for a little over half a year now, but I often forget to take it in time)

To be fair I didn't come with the intention to rush anything in that respect, but rather check my options for a possible future CTB after exhausting some other treatment options that will take a considerable amount of time to explore. But ig you might just be right about some of the empathy I got here. We will see how much worse I will be tomorrow after a good nights sleep xD

That might also play a role, although in most cases it's definitely too early to call people friends yet. But I guess the connection with the people here is definitely a unique one you can't find anywhere else (reddit 🤮)
