Silly or Serious?

I'm curious. People who see CTB as an option or destination - are you serious or silly at your core? Or do you not identify with either? Does a serious or silly outlook contribute to the need to CTB? Personally, I am extremely serious. I think it has very much influenced the life I've led as I tend to always look at the negative Just wondering what the split is here on SaSu!

agree. i get read as serious because i'm typically not seen as happy unless i'm actively talking and making jokes. i find my want to commit suicide silly sometimes and making jokes about it distresses people. i laugh at almost everything because a lot of things are funny to me. i laugh when i'm nervous or sad. i hardly approach anything legitimately seriously.

I would say serious because while I can be silly and fun-loving, I'm always exploring deep topics and I take living my values very seriously. I'm very intentional in how I go about life, but I also try to enjoy it.

Ambivalent on the matter, although more inclined towards "Silly" but not as in "Stupidity". You know the theory of the "Absurd"? I'm leaning towards that part of the spectrum. Trying to make sense out of something that to me has no inherent sense, for as much as I can.

I don't think anyone takes their own life for fun or boredom, but rather because of an unbearable reality and existence.. a way to 'save' and free oneself. Illness, trauma, grief, disability, despair, no future, toxic or abusive environment—in short, all kinds of problems can push you to the final decision.

I've always viewed myself as silly at the core. but after years of torture, the silliness doesn't feel genuine anymore. it's just something I hide behind when I'm around others. and by myself I have constant serious painful thoughts. I don't know if the silly me even exists anymore

I have DID, and I think most are serious, to very serious. There is a little who loves to be silly.

My persona in the world is definitely silly. My entire way of interacting with literally everyone I encounter is trying to make jokes.

My posts here are closer to my internal state, which is more a mix of the two.
