Venting Sick of everything

If my child is away this weekend I'm going to CTB.
Sick of being used by people, people who only reply to you out of politeness.
My friends have all abandoned me, my mum and dad are dead, my sister messages once a month, my grown up kids only speak because they need me for free childcare.
I've thought about this for ages, I really hope I get time at the weekend. I'll be out of here.

I know what it's like to be lonely. I too want to ctb because of it. Its such a terrible feeling to be unwanted and ignored by everyone unless they need you for some task. Your humanity is dismissed and you're seen only as a tool.

So sorry to read you are in this place, talk to us?
Friends come and go thats the hard part, you build a trust just to have it thrown back in your face, parental loss absolutely sucks, siblings are asshats, I speak on all 3 from experience! (bar the child care!)

The majority in my experience are only out for themselves, it's only in places like this that one can gain some sense of belonging. And yet the 'normal' people out there would shut these sites down because of how dangerous they are. Without taking a second to actually understand why places like this are helpful to the marginalised and forgotten of this brave new world we live in.

Agreed, people are more isolated than ever.

I find the experience of going out in public to be bizarre. Almost everyone ignores each other, don't even look at each other. Everyone is just walking past each other like they don't exist. If you go on public transportation everyone is looking at their phones.

I don't remember my childhood or even college days feeling so isolated and alone.

Sociologically it just seems so bizarre, abnormal, and unhealthy. Is this what the future holds, a life of people ignoring each other, being isolated, living
life like robots?

When did everyone get so paranoid and fearful of others? I feel like women are afraid of men and men are afraid of being seen as a threat so everyone just ends up ignoring each other and avoiding others. How sad and unhealthy.

Is it just America that is like this or is the whole world turning into this? I long for basic human connection so much, I long to live in a society where people actually acknowledge each other's humanity. Sometimes I wonder if my mental illness stems from living in an ill society, and that if I moved to a different country I'd actually be happy.

The older I get the more I realize and value the small things in life and basic human connection, people are so much more valuable to our well being than buying stuff and material goods.

I'm from the UK and its the same here, exactly how you said the States were. So much more is being automated and done online that I actually think as a species we are losing the ability to have human connection.
As we move forward I see it only getting worse. The only thing that will help it is a total breakdown in all technology where people are forced to interact.
