  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Should I or shouldn't I. I see no reason why should I do It If I risk being put in mental facility. What do you think?

I wouldn't take that risk. A recent attempt would probably mean to them that you're a danger to yourself, which would almost definitely get you thrown in an institution.

Be VERY CAREFUL!! It's his job to rescue people. I would not do it.

I wouldn't.
I told my psychologist that I am on Sanctioned Suicide and she started to ask me whether I had thoughts of suicide. I lied and said "no". Given that a psychologist could face professional or civil liability if you were to CTB after admitting something like that he or she has an incentive to report it. Everything you would say after that would have to be worded carefully to not invoke suspicion.

That is what I thought, I talked about having thoughts about ctb and even then he was drilling If I do not have plans, I of course said no. I will not speak about it, family does not know, perhaps mom is suspicious. I can keep my mouth shut.

Depends….

If you have hope it will stop you trying again then fair enough, however if you do mention it then it will start you on a path that you will have little or no say over which could makes things considerably worse for how you are feeling inside.

Ultimately look at the others here who have been sucked into the system and didn't come back out any better for it and in many cases much much worse

Did he get out a little sheet of paper and ask you to rate certain thoughts and feelings out of ten?

I see a service that has a strict no intervention policy but I still don't trust it 100 percent so keep my powder dry

or like me severely disabled by their shit meds. (I don't say you don't need to seek help don't understand me wrong, better go for the holistic route)

If you are seeing a psychiatrist you are presumably looking for help with many issues in life. I would at least tell him/her you have thoughts and see if you can process whqt is behind them and maybe get som alternative that can make you feel better

My advice would be, that if you are already speaking to him about suicidal thoughts, then he will already be providing the maximum level of care and treatment that he can. It won't improve the care you are getting from him.

If you tell him about an attempt to take your own life, he will be forced by law to act by reporting it. And a possible outcome is that you will have your personal freedom and rights taken away in a misplaced attempt to save your life.

Depending on your preferences, being subjected to this sort of treatment and this degree of loss of autonomy, may be less desirable than the freedom to take your own life.

If you understand this and it sounds like something that you would be in favor of, for instance if you believe that you do need forceful intervention to prevent you from attempting to take your own life, then I would definitely say go ahead and tell him.

The risk of being put in a hospital of course depends on how recent the attempt was. You could at least talk to them about your suicidal thoughts and what lead up to the attempt (without revealing the attempt itself).

It depends on what you want to achieve by seeing them, if you hold back import elements then they only see part of the picture

that said…..

The thought of a pill induced chemical lobotomy would make me very wise with my words

My therapist knows of my previous attempts, knows I'm actively suicidal and on a suicide form ( tho I didn't name it) and I haven't been sectioned.
