• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I'm hellbent on killing myself. I have access to a handgun, though I'm very inexperienced and I have no knowledge on guns whatsoever. I don't know what ammo it has or anything. Though I have looked at where the best place to shoot is, the success rate, what could go wrong, etc. I'm questioning if I should just kill myself sooner and hope for the best, or hold off and actually take classes and learn how to shoot a gun.
(Sorry if this is an obvious question, just want to make sure I'm making the right decision)

Definitely learn how to operate one first. One wrong flinch and you'll be in much worse shape.

At least get used to firing it. Anticipating recoil and flinching screws with your aim and blowing your eyes out but leaving your brain intact would be less than ideal.

I trained myself out of it by having someone hand me the pistol without telling me if it was loaded or not and taking a shot at a target.

I would say at least be familiar with the operation of the handgun, like what others have said. As far as aiming and stuff, never aim under the chin or just straight up when shooting. If you are going via handgun, you could either go through the mouth, aimed at a 30-45 degree angle (hitting the brainstem), or if going via the side, to aim behind the ear (personally, I go via the mouth for more reliability since it's easier to hit and less dense matter, like bones, getting in the way). As far as the anticipation of recoil and flinching, don't try to anticipate it and when you squeeze the trigger, do so carefully instead of just "pulling/yanking" it (which could throw off the aim). Another thing to help with anticipation is dry firing (shooting a gun unloaded/without any rounds in it). Dry firing helps you know how much you need to squeeze the trigger until the weapon goes off, and when you reach the end of the trigger press, you will hear a 'click' which means had there been a round in the chamber, the gun would discharge and fire.

Like everyone else has said, I believe it's a very good idea. You need to know how to operate it correctly. This isn't something you want to just wing it on.
