So I had ordered SN when the CCS website was still up back in May, and now with a heat wave coming I'm wondering if I should just put it in the fridge? I actually hadn't even opened the outer packaging at all for fear of anything seeing and asking me about the ingredients.

Or should I just put it in a cupboard? I really hope it's high purity SN as stated but don't want it to go bad after a few months.

Would a few months be okay, you think? I wanted to ctb at the end of the year, giving me enough time to tick off a few things on a bucket list.

You shouldn't store it in the fridge. You need to keep it away from moisture. Storing it in the cupboard is fine. If you dont open it and keep it away from moisture it will be good for at least 3 years according to the manufacturer.

The SN from CCS is very high purity. It is AR grade which is the highest purity that you can get.

I do think that if I were to put my SN in a fridge, I would vacuum seal it in a bag first. But, that's just me. Maybe I'm a little anal, IDK.

You mention you haven't opened the SN - good on you. Keep it sealed until you're ready to use it - if that day comes. My SN remains sealed as well.

Do you have air conditioning? You mentioned a heat wave coming and if you don't have AC, it's tricky. I use 70° F as the indicator; if temps are over 70° F, I make sure the SN is alright in it's stashed location. Cool, comfortable, dry, shaded - no direct light.

If it's too hot in the apartment or house, if you notice any kind of beading of liquid, or the SN container appears to be "sweating", the SN may likely be compromised.

Keeping SN in the fridge…it has crossed my mind but I ultimately decided against it due to humidity risk, even though as I said, the bottle is factory sealed with another bag of protection over it which also came from the manufacturer/seller.

Vacuum seal 👍

This is good advice if you're going to try storing SN in the fridge. Be mindful of the fridge temps - not too cold.

Thanks for the advice!

I decided to just put it in a cupboard after reading the advice here. Sadly my apartment is old and doesn't have AC (sucks for me too) but temperatures will reach 90 in a few days so I can only pray it will be alright and the original packaging is solid.

I will try to not open this kitchen cabinet ever until it's time to use it.

Got it. Thank you for replying. Cupboard it is.

I'm glad you got some good advice here. I live in an old apartment as well - top floor studio of a 3 story house, the heat is electric baseboard which I rarely use, and yeah - no AC. I broke down the first summer I lived here and got a window AC from BJ's. Otherwise I would roast up here.
