Games Should auto-clickers (or other software like autohotkey) be allowed to use in Counting Game Threads?

Attention!

A new discovery has arose in the Boys Vs Girls Counting Game where a new meta has been made by @APeacefulPlace. He has found out a way to make more posts in such a quick time using an auto-clicker. This is when he was shared this new tech:

457 - @Namelesa AND THE NEW META IS... autoclicker 155 millisecond per click.

So by what he and I wanted to do I will be making a poll for this dilemma:

Should auto-clickers be allowed to use in Counting Games?​

Just to inform people, an auto-clicker is software that automatic clicks for you and can do a large number of clicks in a short time span. I assume this allows you to get past the post cooldown or post faster.

Reasons against it:

• Increases the skill gap too much making people having too much of an advantage over others
• Requires outside software to be able to do

Reasons for it:

• It silly :3
• It adds more depth to the game maybe?

(honestly can't figure much reasons for it except it silly :3 maybe others can explain reasons for it or think the negatives don't matter as much)

Counting games especially the Boys Vs Girls Counting Game is very important to some of our members here so this decision will have great effect

(How I have written this is just for fun as this is just a silly counting game so don't take this too seriously. Also I am doing this in Offtopic and not the Games section as you can't do polls in that section. Sorry if this thread is taking up space)

based on what @APeacefulPlace did, he was able to do it much faster, I am assuming he got past the cooldown somehow as well but hopefully he can come here for an explanation for how it works and what it does in more detail

also whats autohotkey? were you using that this whole time to be faster than everyone else?

My reaction is: what the actual fuck . Never have I ever thought that I would be on SS to see people discuss using an autoclicker to gain an advantage in a counting game thread. I'm not actually sure if such a thing should be allowed. All of this is way too convoluted for my mind to comprehend. Anyways, I don't think that such a thing should be allowed as not everybody is going to have access to an autoclicker and, even if they did, I wanted the thread to be fun and casual instead of it being fully competitive. Of course there's competition since... it's a competition type of game but I didn't ever intend for it to be this competitive. I will say though that you people certainly care more about that thread than I do lol. For now, I'm going to be against it but, if I ctb successfully, feel free to do whatever you want

Its surprising seeing how much effect a silly game thread has done for this website <3 I of the same opinion as you as I think it should be kept causal and not require outside software to stand a chance and allowing this could ruin the light-heartedness of it. I will say thank you for making this thread, its been a lot of fun playing it and has given some community members a sense of belonging and a way to express themselves. Simply put the cooldown wasn't negated, however using an auto clicker almost makes it seem automatic by the millisecond when cooldown is over, also with auto clicking you don't have to double or triple click in case you missed " Post reply ", tends to happen often in my experience. I guess the poll seals the deal! No auto clicker or outside software.

I still don't understand what the clicker will click - reload page, type numbers or hit the reply button for you?

I also think this should not be allowed. IMHO the game is also about providing a place where you can casually chat while entering numbers at the same time. Or get a feeling of connectedness when you keep working in tandem with someone or are trying your best to hold the line.

I'd honestly rather be forgotten than leave a legacy as I believe that I'll truly be dead once everybody's memories of me are wiped away though of course I can't influence people's memories. I've only played the counting games a handful of times now and then.

Do people use the boys vs. girls thread to try to 'prove' something then? That one gender is more suicidal than the other or something? I suppose it would be 'cheating' then to get robot allies.

Plus, Trump will come after you... Bots are surely asexual. They can't go competing in gender wars. (I actually still don't get why he wants to alienate proportions of the population.)

I suppose you just need an equal amount of men/ women to set this up and, they'll cancel one another out- presumably?

So- how does it work though? Is it like the Ebay bidding system? Is automatically posts for you? Because, isn't it against the rules to post counts consecutively? Is it just posting after every new post?

I guess I sort of admire whoever writes these sorts of programmes. I'd have no idea how to tell a bot to do that. Still- yeah, it seems like cheating. Especially against people who do like to participate.

So, will it continue to work forever? Until that person's account is closed? They could achieve a fairly obscure kind of immortality if they never close their account. It will carry on counting for them for however many centuries we have left.

lololol. no! we're (the thread) kind of our own community; there's entire conversations that go on in that thread. which is probably why it's so active. the closest we ever get to arguing about things relating to gender is just jokingly parroting the "[gender] rules, [gender] drools" crap we all said in elementary school. but no one argues.

i think someone would need a much more intricate program than an autoclicker (which just clicks a certain amount in a certain amount of time for you). like, they'd have to sit down and program that themselves.

the poll has already closed, I left people to be able to vote for a week. Ultimately auto-clickers and other software like autohotkey will not be allowed to use in counting game threads as more people have said no to its use
