I know there are other threads here about sharing movies and such about suicide, but I want to make a thread specifically where we talk a little bit about each one, and why we recommend it. So share some media (can be movies, tv, books, podcasts, etc.) about suicide that you like and say somethings about it.
I'll go first:
Harold and Maude is a unique movie about a death obsessed young man who falls in love with a very old woman. It's sweet, cheeky and hilarious, with a perfect soundtrack by Cat Stevens.
Curfew is a short film by Shawn Christensen about a man, played by Christensen, who is about to kill himself, but then the phone rings. He ends up going on an unexpected adventure with his estranged niece. It was so successful that a feature length film based on the short called Before I Disappear was made. It's not as good as the original short but I like how it expands on some elements of the short. I would recommend it if you have already seen and liked the short.
The Hours is a star studded film about Virginia Woolf based on her book Mrs Dalloway. It's thought provoking and the performances are superb. Made me want to read both the book Mrs Dalloway and The Hours which the film was based on.
