Van Gogh said that the sadness will last forever.

As a concept? As merely a passage of time? Yours? Theirs?

Does it take another form? Another feeling? Can you touch it, mold it, reshape it?

Is it painful? Quick? Does it sting?
Does it leave a mark? Take weeks to heal? Do you get a scar? A limp?

Sadness in its raw state is just an echo of eternity. A silent follower. Finally numb to it. Untouchable.

Finally winning. A break. A match. A game.

Long and peaceful eternity.
Finally free. Finally scarless.

Relief.

I'd like to second this. The character's facial expression is extremely lifelike and compelling, and her tousled hair lends a lovely sense of dynamism to the scene, as if the image could start moving from a gentle breeze at any moment. Excellent work!

hi all, i'm new here. drew up this thingy on my new tablet specifically to share with you guys!! the main idea here is the contrast between the calm lake scenery, fire, and the black and white "eye" of whatever deity is appearing in front of the viewer. an otherwordly being whose intent and form you can't comprehend is my favorite type of horror.

This speaks volumes to me too. It makes me think of how all my energy is focused around my head due to all the memories of trauma in my head and because 4 of our 5 senses are in our head area. Touch is the only sense below the neck. And mind-body dissociation is the most effective solution to dampen the body's traumatic memories, which puts even more energy in the head area. Therefore, as you say, I always feel "heavy headed". I hope you're okay with me giving you my words. Thank you for sharing your art with us.

I will adopt your drawing for my trauma work, if that's okay with you. I'd like to name her Rose, after one of my favourite songs that came out in highschool, when I had already split into a million pieces after a lifetime of brutal trauma. Here are the lyrics, followed the the song "The Rose" by Bette Midler....
