My grandma has the same attitude as you, and frankly it baffles me. It must be a generational difference, she looked at me like I have two heads when I told her I don't trust anyone. I guess the world is just more competitive and cutthroat than it was back then or something.
We are blanket-swaddled babies in marshmallow cocoons compared to the competitive and cutthroat ancient world.
Be that as it may, physics is still physics, gravity gravity, magnetism magnetism. An atom is an atom is an atom. The physical world is unchanged. You and I merely move within it. Our actions and our perspectives determine our shared
social world. We create that ourselves, every day, by what we do, how we think and feel, even what we say. And these days, even with social media.
If we consistently act wrongly, we're helping create a shared wrong world. If we think hateful and destructive thoughts, we're doing our little parts to create a hateful and destructive world. If we speak lies, it's
us, you and I, that are creating a world of liars. If we don't love and trust, even if sometimes it results in getting screwed over, we're working with the assholes to create a loveless and trustless world.
Yeah, there are evil, shitty people in our shared social world. But I'm not going to meekly surrender and let them make a new world in their f***ed-up image. I hope you don't either.
On the other hand, I'm just a tired old hippie.
