"Unconditionally" is a pretty big word, and honestly, people tend to overuse it. But yeah, I finally started to love myself. It took me over 30 years of searching and three major crashes to get there, but still. I might hate my circumstances, but that doesn't mean I don't love me, with all the flaws and limitations included. And there's always room to improve, you know?

Self love is often tied to the image that we have of ourselves and the image that we think other people have of us.
As someone else mentioned, unconditional is a strong word and there is no way to know you'd still love yourself if you mess up so bad that the whole image you had of yourself changes.

But even so I do love myself and I think I'll keep loving myself even if I do make some mistakes here and there (barring something completely unforeseen).

I would personally agree. I cannot say it for others as some do have the capacity to love themselves. I can't idealise myself the same way these people do; even my dreams won't grant me reprieve.

I think we should love ourselves for our uniqueness. Even though we have our flaws, we should try appreciating ourselves.

No, I have never experienced unconditional love and I personally have theorized that it doesn't exist. All relationships and interactions in this world are transactional to some degree.

That being said, some degree of self love is important. It's what's inspiring me to kill myself.

I agree with you, but it's not easy to get to the point where you have these realizations, as they come only after you've internalized the darkest corners of dark philosophy. Self-esteem etc is indeed a scam because it's an expression of attachment to the self, which is what keeps us enslaved in this flesh prison, because we're programmed to see ourselves, life, the matrix and existence as either beautiful, sublime, transcendental, numinous, or inherently important and such things need to be preserved. Any kind of attachment is a scam. It's like getting attached to anything inside a prison and then having a hard time leaving.
