Seeking Location Suggestions to CTB via Firearm

Hey there - thank you to all who read this post, and my apologies in advance if this post is removed for redundancy.

I'm going to CTB via shooting myself soon. I plan to go through the mouth and hit the brainstem, either with a rifle or handgun above 9mm gauge.

I'm looking for suggestions about location? I'm 29M and have been living with my parents for a year and a half (the reasons that got me in this position are why I'm going to CTB). They are aware that I am suicidal.

I do not want to CTB in their home, as it will traumatize the space forever, and I don't want them to be the ones to find me. I think my car is the best bet - it is not fully paid for yet, but I'll be leaving some savings behind that should cover the remaining balance owed on it. I just don't want to CTB (even in my car) in a place that might attract news attention, god forbid. I need to be found, but not cause a big scene, if that makes sense. Maybe I'm naive, but I feel that if I were to CTB in, say, a parking lot, I could see a "man commits suicide in car outside Target" news bulletin, which may be just as traumatic for my family as if I were to CTB in their home. Catch my drift?

I know that there are no perfect solutions, but I would love to hear any suggestions that any of you have, and I would be grateful.

I think something like what you are contemplating will make the news wherever you do it. These news organizations, especially local ones, froth at the mouth for these juicy kind of stories. I agree for the reasons you state that doing it in your parent's house is a bad idea. I say don't worry about the car. Let the bank eat the balance due. But, I ,honestly, see no way to get out of some kind of local news coverage of some sort. Personally, I think there are better methods that are much more peaceful, but, hey, to each their own.

Welp, it's not the advice that I was hoping for, but I definitely appreciate the honesty and the food for thought. It seems everybody on this site is pretty taken with SN. I'd much rather use a reliable firearm to ensure quickness and effectiveness, but something like SN in a hotel room probably wouldn't cause the same stir. I just want to do this away from my parents' home, but not get news coverage and I guess I'm hoping for some creative ideas. But hey, I am not being sarcastic when I say thank you for the honesty.

I really doubt it would make the news even if you did it in a parking lot. Suicides are hardly reported because it encourages other suicidal people to kill themselves.

Forest with high grizzly population? Maybe the grizzly can mask the suicide. I wonder how many ctbs are blamed on animals. Or rent a cabin.

Thank you for this information. How did somebody eventually find him? If you had to estimate, how much time do you think passed before he was found? I understand if you dont want to share these details. And I am sorry for your loss.

Either woods, dark quiet street or in caves/tunnels/abandoned shelters. Unlike other methods here a gun doesnt take long to kill, in fact it takes less than 1 second, so you dont have to worry of getting found

Hunters found him a few hours after he died. His death was instant according to the coroner.
