Discussion seeing these ego boosters on social media seems pathetic

When I see self help shit like be the better version of yourself. And start working on yourself and become the best shape and stuff like that. death looms over it and Im like whats the point. to stand over people? to pretend like im the better human? It doesnt seem worth it because I know it doesnt fucking matter And I dont want to be an ego. I dont want to be this perfect human thast fake happy because Im not happy and I want to die

yeahhhh i feel like in my case i react to these self help things suicidally out of some kind of defiance. i wonder how many of these books are genuinely trying to help people and how many are just some too-rich self important author trying to rub it about how successful he is and bootstraps and whatever.

in any case a lot of online "your feelings matter" type posts ring hollow and impersonal if you dont know them personally… don't make me feel better at all. make me feel worse, even. wonder if these types would keep posting those if they knew that some complete basket case like me saw it, haha.

absolute fucking preach man. i've had the exact same thoughts for years now. they give into the incessant competition that engulfs our world like a fucking plague.yet, we're all forced to join, otherwise you're seen as lower value for not giving into egomaniacal desires. i seriously fucking detest this aspect of the world.

to me, all this self-help garbage is nothing but a mere illusion. a facade towards everyone else, in an attempt to not be seen as a garbage human being just because you can't lift x amount of weight ( even if that is completely stupid logic ). it's because the concept of gender roles has embedded itself so deep into our social fabric that it leads to garbage like this - that men should be/look like… and women should look/be like…

i just think it's beyond amusing that we as a society cling onto this perceived ideals that were formed from a completely era of humanity. like sure, men in the past would certainly benefit from having these ideals, but are we living in the past? atp everyone just wants to be an egotistical fuckwit because it seems like your only value as a person is how fuckable you are. it's genuinely so disgusting and tiring that we as a species has let it come to this, that we're nothing more than sex dolls in terms of value.

sorry for the rant. this is just what i think. for context, ive been bullied my whole life for being ugly, so yeah.
