• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Just in case anyone here can help. I have a shrink appt in an hour, and all I am looking for is a sedative prescription. I do NOT want to get treated for depression or anything else, just the prescription for the sedative so I can sleep peacefully.
Any tips for how to handle this appointment? I have not been to a mental health practitioner in over 1.5 decades.

They will likely only give you antidepressives.

Just tell them you don't want to start with an SSRI and would like something for sleep. Tell them you are struggling to fall asleep or stay asleep ect. Stand firm, no anti-psychotics either!

Have you tried cannabis?

Assuming that by "sleep peacefully" you actually mean sleep and not ctb (don't OD on pills), you will probably be prescribed antidepressants or antipsychotics since they are used off-label as sleeping aids. Maybe they'll work for you, maybe not. Personally, they never helped me with my insomnia and just turned me into a zombie. Benzos are superior, but they are addictive and asking a psychiatrist for benzodiazepines right away will probably make them skeptical.

Have you ever looked into the root causes of your sleep problems?
