• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Because if you have to do that much to ease SI then you aren't entirely ready to complete the act, and you're leaving room for regrets. At the end of the day, the mods don't want it on this site; they have their reasons, and they have the right to remove it.
So how is meditating to combat SI versus say taking a Xanax? Xanax is part of the SN protocol if I'm not mistaken

I haven't killed myself because I'm too scared to but that somehow means that I shouldn't be able to take steps to mitigate the fear? Everyone is afraid of dying. It's a natural instinct. If someone helped me with it, I'd be grateful.
survival instinct is something that affects every suicidal person but they have to get past it on their own in order to be able to kill themselves. no one can actually tangibly help someone kill themselves, even if they dmed them an sn source, antiemetics, and even sent them money to buy those things. people will still choose to stay alive if they don't want to kill themselves. that's why this forum still has users, even if there's people with their methods (firearm, sn, rope). it's meant to be an individual choice, which is why the forum is pro-choice.

But we draw the line at YouTube videos and meditation? I don't get it. Is it somehow only okay if people are going to do it anyways? I'm not trying to argue, I just don't understand where you're coming from, but I'm trying to. Idk maybe I can't understand.
someone makes a post about a method or drug = people can read it and move on. people can read about benzos and sn and choose to not buy those things because they don't have immediate access to them, or they can choose to use a different ctb method. trying to give direct advice on how to become more suicidal (i.e. mediatation, telling user that suicide is the only solution, that living is meaningless) is coercive because it's a direct force. it's done with the intent of trying to make people want to die and hoping that people want to kill themselves "more". people i've talked to on sasu have expressed fear or guilt towards committing suicide. if i were to help them by "giving them advice" (telling them that they should do it anyways), i am explicitly encouraging them to commit suicide rather than supporting them as a friend. that's not right to do.

Do you see the goodbye threads cheering people on? Yet trying to get rid of SI is bad? Giving people resources on methods is OK?
goodbye threads are in order to support a person's decision or give someone a safe space to talk while they prepare to ctb. there was a thread last night about someone wanting to take sn and backing out. people are not actively encouraging users to kill themselves if they still ahve a will to live or if they would regret killing themselves. there are also goodbye threads where users ask op to stay instead of killing themselves, because they don't want them to die. it's not black and white.
