Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

It's a publicity stunt and a way for Dr. PN to gift money even more. Barbiturates (or any of the other suitable anesthetic combinations) are dirt cheap (and likely cheaper than the gas they will put in the Sarco) when acquired through legal means. 99% of people (and their family) would choose an anesthetic death over the Dr. PN maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, time to pay another unexpected $300 fee, inert gas chamber any day of the week tbh.
I get that this is meant to be an improvement on this method's alternative, which is having a hood over your head, but dying inside an enclosed space not much bigger than the human body would totally freak me out. This would trigger claustrophobia for me.
I already freak out over sleeping bags (feel like a trapped mummy). This tron looking coffin would make me feel very uncomfortable.
Not sure how exactly it works, but in a video Nitschke said that they tested it, and he said O2 levels were reduced to nearly zero rapidly.Sounds not good. If I am correct, exit capsule is used instead of exit bag in this project. If I understood correctly it works like this, you go inside the capsule and release the liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen turns into gas and is replaced by air inside the capsule. Since nitrogen is homogeneously dispersed in the room air, how do we push O2 out and fill it with N? With this method, the O2 in the capsule will decrease at a very slow rate. How many liters of N per minute does the transition of liquid nitrogen to gaseous mean? If N is homogeneously distributed in the capsule, how do you know how much O2 you have pushed out? If I'm correct, this would cause unconsciousness to take a very long time and cause tachypnea. The fact that someone is conscious of being in that capsule to die, and that comes with the psychological pressure, seems like a pretty disturbing scenario. In the classical inert gas method, almost 100% nitrogen or helium is inhaled, after removing all the air from the lungs. It allows it to work fast and be peaceful. The capsule does not seem to meet these requirements.

Yeah I don't see how this could ever top N or inert gas. Another money making scheme from Nitschke?
In any case, even if it does become the new standart, it will always be expensive. "Death with dignity" will always be a business
If he had clearly written the working principle of the capsule, we could have discussed it. It doesn't seem realistic with hypothetical ideas. Not sure how exactly it works, but in a video Nitschke said that they tested it, and he said O2 levels were reduced to nearly zero rapidly.

He's going to. Maybe he is just waiting out this (or the next month's) PPH publication and sure enough, the Sarco mechanism will be explained there. Something makes me think the PPH is going to grow noticeably.
Philip wouldn't write up 15 extra words on nembutal, but maybe he's going to spend at least 15 pages on Sarco, because it's his creation. And $$$$$ (sorry, no idea what the australian dollars sign is).
P.S. I have never seen anybody utilise any translator better than you.
My english is weak but still I can see shat is wrong in translate. Just correcting :) Google translate is going to better I can see that.
Beat me to itLmao it's the real life version of this:

Edit - also why do some guys hate Nitschke
You know something is serious when The Onion makes an article abou it
He is daddyPhilip nitschke is total bmf and you're jealous
Love the concept of Sarco...probably won't love the cost. Will be interesting to see what that cost be.![]()
Sarco suicide capsule hopes to enter Switzerland
A 3D-printed capsule destined for use in assisted suicide hopes to operate in Switzerland, according to Exit International.www.swissinfo.ch
"A 3D-printed capsule, destined for use in assisted suicide, may legally be operated in Switzerland, according to advice obtained by Exit International, the organisation that developed the 'Sarco' machine."
Looks comfy.
