Already hit most of the big well respected ones (Carrie and Lowell, A Crow Looked At Me, Deathconsciousness, Songs about leaving), and I'm wondering if there's anything else obvious I'm missing. I'll take more obscure recs as well of course, I'm not a snob about it.

Not sure if it can be considered entirely "sad", but "Musick to Play in the Dark Vol. 2" by Coil is one I like to listen to when I feel really sad. Here's my favourite song from the album, just to give you an idea of what it sounds like:

I listened to the ape of naples a while ago and have been meaning to check out coil's other stuff, so this gives me a good excuse. a good friend of mine is really into them as well
Carissa's wierd - songs about leaving
this was one of the ones I listed but yes its an incredible album. its technically my least favourite out of the four I listed but its still a 9.5 so that just goes to show how good the other three are. if you know anything that sounds similar to this, definitely let me know
the will to death by john frusciante
