A guy of SS forum has inboxed me to dissuade me from taking SN.

I'm sad to see that even in a pro choice forum on this subject you receive lessons on what to do. He also scared me with his threats if the suicide fails...
What's is he talking about conversion if nitrite in nitrate ? Are they any risks of fail if f respect precisely the procedure of pphd ?

I survived it, was put in an induced coma immediately after being taken by paramedics after i was colapsed on the street, my vitals were critical, the doctor was brilliant but without my information it was SN poisoning, death is certain . Blood transfusions, methylene blue on my neck veins. After I woke up from the coma, took several days until I could walk without help. So, its not something you can later decide you just change your mind after taking.
I ask , what is so bad in your life right now that is making you take this decision?"

My answer : Hey, you dont know anything about my life so keep your advice for you

Him: You're right I dont know anything about your life but can tell you are suffering a lot. Do you think I want to see you suffer more? Look at it from another perspective, you end up getting SN from a source that may contain contaminants or already started converting to nitrate, you fail in dying and end up severely disabled and locked in a psychiatric unit. Is that better?

As for the testing of the purity of SN, there is the blood test.

The choice about what to do should always be up to you. I think that you should notify a moderator.

Sure, the person's intent could be genuine, but if it was, then that person could have relied to one of your posts instead of sending PMs to you. There's no reason to hide good intentions.

SN is extremely toxic. It varies from body to body. If u didnt throw up and feeling lack of oxygen it is not painful. SN is doing its job.

First of all, I would like to know who it was who sent you that message.

Secondly, I don't recall how many posts were needed in order to get access to the search, but there are many threads discussing "safety" and effectiveness of SN. Ultimately we cannot be 100% positive about anything in life, unfortunately. But we do know for certain that people have died from taking it (sometimes despite serious efforts undertaken to save them). We know this because there are published case studies about fatalities, and there are also some published cases about people who survived. So far (to my knowledge) there have not been any PUBLISHED cases about people who survived with permanent damage. Is that a guarantee? No.

This has been debated over and over. Ultimately you will have to decide for yourself.

P.S. That account doesn't exactly track with any of the other accounts I have seen, and I have seen MANY (because I look for them... this is like unto a hobby or something). I'm not saying that the person is lying, but I do feel some skepticism that this person is on the up and up.

You are right - but in some sense, the PMs could be seen as harassment. I guess that it's up to the recipient to decide how they feel about the PMs.

I think unfortunately there are risks with any method, even including N. Some methods are much more reliable than others, some more peaceful than others, but none are 100% reliable and peaceful. CTB is, by definition, risky, because the vast majority of us don't have the luxury of medical supervision to do it.

While SN is very reliable and not as risky as many other methods, there are obviously risks. I have not seen any reports of brain damage, but surviving an SN attempt can result in other kinds of organ damage (all treatable, at least initially, but you'd have to disclose that you've taken SN, which many are validly reluctant to do). SN is also a potent carcinogenic agent, so you definitely don't want to self-harm on SN or test the SN unless you're sure you're ready. It seems from people on SS who've posted about their experiences that SN is usually much more peaceful than most other readily available means, but there are exceptions to this rule. Last, it is true that if you take SN that hasn't been properly sealed, part of it might have slowly converted to nitrate (ineffective for CTB), which means that you'd be ingesting a lower dose and have a higher likelihood of surviving. I don't think any of this information is fearmongering or hating on SN - it's just the reality of living with few decent CTB options, none of which are (IMO) flawless. It's important to be fully aware of possible outcomes/consequences before taking SN.

FWIW, I learned the hard way that although N is widely recognized as the "gold standard," it is very possible to have the item seized at customs and then get a visit from LE. I thought stories of N seizures and LE visits were forms of fearmongering, but sadly they weren't because those things happened to me. As much as it sucks talking about the downsides of different methods, doing so openly is really important. Still is totally messed up that you were harassed OP - I'd never allow myself to tell someone to do or not do something on this site. Sorry you had to deal with that

I also find it extremely suspicious that he took SN and then he -went outside-. Unless he took it while outside, which also doesn't make sense. The story seems like a poor fabrication. They wrote in an aggressive manner as well which is not what anyone needs when they're suicidal. Definitely sounds like some idiot in authority that passed with minimum grades in empathy and maximum grades in conformity.

Why can children and prisoners being watched do this right and I can't. It can't be that hard
